Pre-registered at the hospital just now before things get too craxy and I forget, and was told some surprising information. The lady said if I have any pregnancy related issues (bleeding, lack of movement, fall, etc) or get very ill, I'm to bypass the emergency room and come straight to the maternity floor where they will administer care instead. Sweet! Hope I never have to go to the ER before it's time but that's great to know!
Anyone else told the same or similar by their hospital? Mine is open 24/7 as well.
Re: Surprise Hospital Pre-Register Benefit
I wish I had known that with my first. I was in the ER TWICE the week before my first child was born with several signs of Pre E and they basically said my BP was high and I was pregnant, stop worrying.... They never checked my urine. Had I known to go to L&D, maybe they could have bought us a few more days of #1 baking... Or they would have caught it sooner at least.

At my hospital they ask you to go straight to OB if you are 20+ weeks. They will register you there and do whatever is needed for tests.
**Obviously if you have a head injury/severed arm/nail in your foot they don't want you to go to OB...**

I can't help but giggle at the thought of P only being open 9-5.
We will move all after hour births to the lake for water births!
Totally. These will be some tough kids. And our vaginas will feel great after with all that cold water rushing in :P
Cannot stop laughing! Who woulda thunk it!
