vein issues in leg

Hi
I have had vein issues in my left leg this whole pregnancy. It's mostly on my left knee down but I also had a very prominent swollen vulvar vein. Went last week for pain and swelling and doctor said if it gets worse then let her know and she will take me out early. I only have two weeks lwft of work. It's basically because I work in a warehouse walking on concrete all day no sitting. Does any one else have these issues? Advice?
Thanks

  • Do you already wear compression stockings? That's my only suggestion....

  • I have awful veins behind my left knee, but not my right!! I even had an ultrasound done before I was pregnant to check my circulation (pregnancy has just made it worse). The only suggestions I was given was to elevate my feet (not always a realistic option!!!) or prescription compression socks.

Hope they feel better after you deliver!
  • I really don't have that much advice, but I too have bad veins in both legs, but my right is worse. The pain and swelling are almost unbearable at times. Water, elevation, compression socks. Those are what I have been told but it doesn't seem to help me. They just took me off work for the same thing. I teach and stand on concrete floors all day long. I have been off since Monday and even though I am enjoying being off the pain and swelling are not much better. Good luck!

I have had the same issue in my left leg also. My dr recommended compression stockings but of course I didn't heed her advice and they have gotten worse. They are starting to get painful

  • I have varicose veins up my entire right leg and vulvar varicose veins on my right side. Totally sucks, so you have my sympathy. Taking breaks to elevate your legs helps. I agree with pp about compression stockings. They also sell compression supports like the v2 that can help with the vulvar varicosities.
