Re: ****Weekly IVF Check-in ****

  • So I had my lining check yesterday and my lining was only 9.2, and I usually get up to 11 so I started estrace 2x's a day and I go back next tuesday for another lining check.  This is the NEVER ending cycle.

QOTW:  When things get really bad we usually go to the house in Savannah and drink a lot.  It seems like we can always reset everything with a week away.  I also use to like to run but I haven't ran since I started this IVF cycle.  Right now I can't go to Savannah or run, I need another stress reliever.
    Fucking bump!!!!

  • I'm trying to get IVF#1 organized to start prepping in late September and stimming in early October (ish).

QOTW: Jujutsu is one of my favorite escapes. Nothing takes your mind off of IF like someone trying to twist your arm of or lobbing you base over apex through the air. Unfortunately I will not be able to do much of it once I start stimming. I guess I'll have to do more walking, cooking, and/or reading (jeez, that sounds uncomfortably middle aged...).

    ***siggy warning***

    Me: 29; DH: 53
TTC since February 2013 --- mild thin PCOS (or not, depending on which RE you ask), MFI

    TI#1: BFN (April 2014; Clomid 50mg x5 days, Estrace x5 days, Clomid 50 mg x4 days)
    IUI#1: c/p (May 2014; Letrozole 2.5 mg x5 days, Estrace x5 days, Bravelle 75 IU x10 days)
IUI#2: abandoned... O'd early & DH hormone issues (June 2014; Letrozole 2.5 mg x5 days, Bravelle 75 IU x2 days)
    IUI#2.1: BFN (July 2014; Letrozole 2.5 mg x5 days, Bravelle 75 IU x4 days)

Moving on to IVF. (Why we're moving on to IVF)

IVF#1 (w/ICSI): BCP 9/9-9/23. Gonal-F, Ganirelix, Low-dose HCG (antagonist protocol). 41R/35M/32F... 2 transferred on 10/14, 14 frosties! On cabergoline to help avoid OHSS. BFN, possibly because of 90% drop in estrogen and progesterone a few days after ET.
    FET#1: Transferring 2 on January 8. BFP! beta#1 (1/17): 408, beta#2 (1/20): 1310, first u/s scheduled 2/5

    ****All Welcome****

  • I'm out this month as well due to an extended business trip. Will likely start prepping late September/early October for IVF#1 in October/November.

    I cook when I'm stressed.

    TTC since Jan '11

Me (32): DX PCOS, endo; DH (34): Perfectly healthy

IUI#1-IUI#4: BFN; moving to IVF as of August '14

    IVF cycle planning appt: 8/19

  • Hopefully starting stims on Aug 30, fx

Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF. I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).

We are using open ID donor sperm. IUIs #1-7=BFN. IVF September 2014 antagonist protocol, 8R,5M,3F, 5 day transfer of 1 morula = BFN. IVF#2 planned for January 2015 (antagonist protocol + HGH).

Well I already posted that this cycle did not work. :( I am waiting in cd1 to call in for further instructions as I was told.

QOTW: I like to read but had sort of gotten away from it, so I am escaping into a bunch of books. I used to blog about books/publishing industry a lot so am trying to get back to that because that is just a whole 'nother world and in itself feels like an escape. I watch a lot of tv and movies. We like to take vacations and I sooo feel the need to get away, but we are going to an out of state family wedding next week so that is taking up our time off and money (plus IVF took up $$ of course) so I'm thinking that isn't going to be quite the escape we need!

    Me: 32  DH: 33  Married: March 2004

    July 2006: started TTC
2008: HSG (normal), couple rounds of clomid through gyno
2008 - 2010: dragging my feet out of fear and procrastination
October 2010: first consultation with RE, dx PCOS and fibroids (DH slightly low count/motility)
Oct. 2010 - Dec. 2012:  In DENIAL! avoided the issue because I was scared of surgery
January 2013: returned to RE, fibroids grew significantly
February 2013: second HSG, fibroids pushed on tubes which blocked them somewhat
March 2013: MRI to determine what type of surgery may be necessary

July 29, 2013: fibroids (5) removed via robotic laparascopy
August 2013 - Nov 2013 : benched due to recent surgery

    IUI #1, Dec. 24, 2013, BFN
    IUI #2, Jan. 25, 2014, BFN
    IUI #3, Feb. 25, 2014  BFN
IUI #4 canceled due to lack of response to letrozole
    IUI #4.1 April 28, 2014, BFN

May 16, 2014: wtf consult, start prepping for IVF in June and add injects for one last IUI in the meantime
IUI #5 started letrozole and bravelle but canceled after HSG led to new diagnosis

May 21, 2014: third HSG, tubes blocked, one at the beginning, one hydrosalpinx??
June 11, 2014: consult, approved to move on to IVF because the hydro is not completely blocked therefore allowing fluid to move through slowly rather than backwards
    IVF #1 August 8, 2014 - 3dt of 2 embryos, BFN
September 17, 2014 - 4th HSG, the right tube is very patent (open!!) dye went straight through this time. Weird!
    October 2, 2014 - started metformin treatment
    November 14, 2014 - blood work, brought A1C down from 5.8 to 5.5

November 26, 2014 - RE finally back from vaca and reviewed my chart, no more IVFs for rest of calendar year
December 1, 2014 - Right after Thanksgiving, I called a new clinic and got in right away! Plan for IVF
    December 17, 2014 - ER! 29 retrieved (!!), 16 mature, all 16 fertilized (ICSI)

    IVF #2 December 20, 2014 - 3dt of 3 embryos, BFN

We are done with treatment unsuccessfully. :(

    PAIF/SAIF/All Welcome!

  • I am still going strong on the Lupron. My tummy is sore from jabbing already though. It's more like, I can't find a spot that doesn't hurt to inject! Makes me a bit worried to start Gonal and Menopur on Saturday! And I saw a MFM yesterday as part of a preconception appointment. It was annoying.

QOTW: I normally drink wine, or watch TV mindlessly. But i'm with you @pintobean the stress is really getting the best of me right now! We were planning to take a day trip to Austin this weekend to forget about everything, but now I'm just stressed about bringing the dogs out of town for a day when we're not staying anywhere.

I'm currently stimming! First follie check is Thursday.

QOTW: I usually like to escape into a good tv show or movie. Something to make me forget about life for a bit..

  • 1. Where are you in the IVF process (prepping, stimming, ER/ET date, etc)
I just finished my first cycle and it was a success but...found out Monday at 6 weeks that I miscarried :(
    2. What cycle?
    First cycle
    3. Test/beta day?
My 1st beta was 279 2nd beta 648 3rd beta 933 ( which dr was worried bc it didn't quite double) then 4th beta was 2370....so they stopped bc beta was over 1000...I was feeling great and a week later went for my first u/s and they couldn't find the baby :( I cried my eyes out and am still crying :(...waiting to get my period and pass it...so sad ...I have 2 embryos left and will NOT give up ....I pray none of you have to go through what I went through...may you all be blessed ...good luck everyone
  • Sorry I'm just getting to respond but it hasn't been one of my best weeks.

@cabrilollna I'm so sorry for your loss.  ((Hugs))

@ky29 Good luck at your follicle check today.

@rcvb22  FX those follicles are growing

@meld42 I actually found the Gonal/follistim to be much easier than the Lupron injections.  I think it is the needle are sharper in those pens.  I hated when I had to use an insulin syringe for the overfill of my gonal.

@jessimI06 that is awesome about your Re coming in on the weekend.

    @gsancho FX for doubling beta's

@buttmonkey34 (((Hugs)))  Good luck on your next cycle

    @jencity9 ((((Hugs)))

@emmuffy  FX you get to start soon

@bluejoan, @tweetyknicks, @hollowvic, @ohmykittens Good luck for your upcoming cycles.

    Fucking bump!!!!
  • @ky29 that's a great first scan!  Shoot, I got excited with 9 back in June.

My second beta came in at 1048, which is great.  I've just had a minor scare b/c my E2 went from 1400 to 106...RE says not to worry too much and E2 fluctuates.  But I am still an anxious mess b/c it was such a big drop.  I'm at least better today than I was yesterday.  I'm taking more estradiol and go back tomorrow to check.  I'll update next week after our vacation - by then I'll hopefully know if I can officially call myself knocked up or not.

    Me 33, DH 37 -- TTC since Jan'12 -- Low AMH (0.78) & endo, SA w/ low motility
    IUI's 1-3 = BFN, IVF converted to IUI 4/13 = BFN
    IVF 1.2: 8R 6M 4F -- 2 blastocysts frozen, FET 8/15 = BFP!!
    Beta #s = 445;1,098; 9,545  -- EDD 5/2 -- Team Pink!
    Camila Josephine arrived 4/30 :)
  • awesome @k29 hope everything continues going well

  • I've been on a long break, but we are preparing to cycle again!

    1. We are finishing up our precycle testing since all of my testing is out of date.  I had my CD 3 blood work Monday and my SHG is tomorrow.  Since we are still waiting on our treatment plan from the RI, we will probably not cycle until November.  We'll know more after our follow up with the RI a week from today.  I'll hopefully be able to start BCP with my next period.

    2.  This will be IVF #4.  We have done 3 fresh IVF cycles (1 canceled transfer, 1 c/p, and one BFN) and we also did a FET with donor embryos that was a BFN.

    3.  I guess that depends on when we end up cycling!

QOTW: I like to read smutty books or watch tv.

January 2015: FET #2 Cancelled due to lining issues

    April 2015: FET #2.1

    PAIF/SAIF Welcome!

  • @ky29 awesome scan!!

@gsancho‌ Monday when I had my monitoring appt I asked what my e2 was and I think it was somewhere like 500 and I asked if that was good, what did it need to be. The nurse told me it fluctuates so much and since I was only on patches it also depends on how many days you have had them on. FX it means absolutely nothing and you get good betas. Enjoy your vacation!!

@Twinkie0612‌ I have my FX so much for you on this next cycle coming up.
    Fucking bump!!!!
