Another intro....

Hi ladies!  I just got my BFP on Tuesday and I'm very excited.  This is my first.  I'm 33, H is 40, and we've been married for a little over 5 years.  We've "sort of" been trying off and on for awhile (some months more diligently than others) and I was almost assuming that I was unable to get pregnant and was kind of OK with that.....

So my period was due on Monday and I had plans on Tuesday evening to go out for wine with a friend.  When my period still hadn't shown up on Tuesday morning I took a test "just in case" - it never crossed my mind that it would come back positive!  I seriously thought I'd test just to put my mind at ease so I could go out for wine.  So then I took 3 more tests throughout the day and finally started to believe it.

So far, no bad symptoms except for a little bit of twingy cramps here and there?  No nausea but sometimes I do get this sort of "empty" feeling?  I can't think of how else to describe it.  I definitely have sore boobs and I keep touching them to make sure the soreness is still there.

I am a big old worrier and I know I'll continue to freak myself out until my doctors appointment on September 23.  I am going in later today for an info session with the nurse at my OB/GYN - hopefully that will allay some of my fears.  I wish I could shut this brain off sometimes!

Anyway, hello!  I'm very excited and very happy to be here.  I have never posted on The Bump before but I used to post on The Knot for awhile.

    Congrats and welcome! Symptoms can come and go so don't worry too much!

    Congrats! I hear ya on the empty feeling...I think it is hunger :-) To me, it feel like I just pulled an all nighter and I need to eat some McDonalds to keep me going. haha

    Jersey, I'm glad to know H and I aren't the only "oldies," haha.  And that I'm not alone in freaking out over everything!

    Welcome and congratulations! Your story of finding out you were pregnant is almost IDENTICAL to how I found out I was pregnant with my 1st. It was a total surprise. We weren't "trying" per se, but we weren't preventing and I had no idea it was coming. Was about to pour myself some wine and decided to take a test to ease my mind and boom! Pregnant.  :)

    Oh man, me too.  The sad thing is, we had a party last Friday and we have all these open bottles around the house :(  H isn't much of a wine drinker so I figured I'd finish them off.  Guess not, and they'll have to go to waste.  I told my one close friend yesterday and she said "I want to celebrate!" and I said "OK!  Come on over and drink my open wine!"
