Everyone tells me I should start taking the two. So, I just went food shopping and bought them, but I am pretty nervous to just pop anything. Should I just use them as directed OR wait until my first Dr appt. on Monday?
Take them. They're recommended for women of childbearing age. Folic acid reduces the instances of some birth defects & the calcium basically protects you from osteoporosis later in life because baby will pretty much zap the calcium right from your bones to get what he/she needs.

as stated Folic acid is a MUST to prevent neural tube defects (spina bifida) and 1800 mg /day of calcium are recommended during pregnancy, few people get that much from their diet. Have you looked at a pregnancy book?

I have yes. But I didn't know if I should take anything before going to the DR's.?
I would definitely start taking the folic acid...I took 800 mcg daily for a few months prior to TTC and then switched to prenatal vitamins after my BFP.
Re: Folic Acid and Calcium
?
just a Flinstone with Iron?
how much folic acid does it have? ?you need at minimum 400 mcg?
I take the One A Day Women's vitamin and a calcium each day as a supplement. They are both really easy to tolerate.
Ditto!

Never wait to see a doctor. Some people don't see their doctor until 8 or 9 weeks. You can buy an otc prenatal vitamin.
