What exercising did you do?
Did you accomplish your goals?
GTKY: and in the interest of NOT working... what do you plan to do when you retire (since I am already dreaming of that day)

I run run run - I keep meaning to pick up yoga, since I am the least flexible person ever (I can't even touch my toes - literally  :-/ ) but I haven't yet. Maybe in October after all my vacations.

I have to skip a day this week because I have an appt. and I'm flying up north for the weekend (YAY country fair food! I plan to come back with a fried fair food baby :) ) but overall I'm doing good. The sun doesn't come up until 15 min after I start running to work which always makes me think I should put on my reflective vest. But, then the thought of showing up to work later, when the sun is up, in my vest makes me not want too. There are pretty decent sidewalks and street lights during the darkest part of my run so I'm not too worried.

I want to retire to the beach. H really wants to retire to another country though. More than likely we won't have enough money to do either, or retire for that matter.

  • Yay meeee, I did terribly this week (canceled barre on Monday due to feeling awful and this weekend we're traveling) but I signed up and WENT to a 6am class this morning! Woo, it's something!!

Definitely no where near my goals but I'm high on workout adrenaline so eff it.

I want to retire to North Carolina--equal distance from the beach and a golf course. With a big porch. Ahhhhh just 30 more years to go.

  • Elliptical, swimming, walking. Need to get on the ball with yoga, too, since my new class doesn't start until September 6.

I did my best with my goals. Work has been crazy, but I've been moving when I can.

Good question on retirement. We want to move out West, would we just stay there? A beach house in Mexico instead? I have no idea.
Awaiting our bundle of cute chaos.

  • I am finally getting my energy back and not so exhausted that I crash right after work and I'm so excited to start working out again.  I did yoga yesterday morning. It was a very mild relaxing class but it was stretching and movement! Tonight hubby and I are going to the gym for the first time in months! I plan on walking a mile and then doing about 20 min on the elliptical.

Retirement feels so far away (and literally it is... probably another 25-30 yrs??) that I really cant wrap my mind around any plans at all.  I'm sure our lives will be so very different by then.  All I can imagine is that I want to spend lots of time with my sweet hubby and I'm sure we will travel often.

  • I'm horrible with exercise now that I'm pregnant! I know it isn't good, gotta get serious again! I'm just afraid of over doing it. Going to Zumba tomorrow night, first time in two months!

Haven't even thought of retiring, lol! With our economy, I wonder if by then any of us will be able to retire!
  • What exercising did you do? - Weights and elliptical
Did you accomplish your goals? - After slacking majorly last week, I'm back on track this week!  Went to the gym Sun and Tues, AND have been eating healthier (yay for salads tasting decent again!)
GTKY: and in the interest of NOT working... what do you plan to do when you retire (since I am already dreaming of that day)  Downsize to a smaller home/condo relatively close to where our kids are and travel.  Though DH wants to retire to the colony on the moon that he's sure will be there by the time we retire..... don't get me started... 8-|

  • What exercising did you do?  I walked a lot, helped my husband move all the wood that was cut up from a big tree in our yard and went to the gym one day.

Did you accomplish your goals?  No not really. I need to get to the gym more.

GTKY:  what do you plan to do when you retire  My husband and I would like to retire to Grand Lake or Estes Park in Colorado. We love RMNP and being out there so we have seriously considered the move out there eventually.

PS. @Irishcurls I live in NC....smack dab in the middle so it is about the same distance to both the beach and the mountains and it is great. We still love CO though.

  • I did spin, elliptical, free weights, ran (on the treadmill since the temps cracked 100 this weekend) and a couple circuit training classes.

I did not accomplish my goal. :(
My goal is to work out 6 days a week. This week I only made 5 days. Tbh, I just really needed an extra rest day so I took one. Technically, the 6 days a week was my first tri goal and I planned to re-evaluate once I hit second tri. Now that I'm here, I hate to change that goal because that has been my routine for so long. I think I will still aim for 6 days but will just listen to my body and not feel bad if I have to take an extra rest day here and there.

I'm a SAHM so retirement planning is really more about when DH retires. I may go bad to work at some point but probably never more than part time. Anyway, we love where we live and we love our house. We'd be happy to just retire, live in a paid off house and travel lots. That sounds perfect to me.

  • What exercising did you do? Lifting Monday, Wednesday (today), and (last) Friday - those are my normal days
Did you accomplish your goals?  No... I keep saying I need to walk more and never do.  I have a desk job so it's actually pretty important that I do.  After I broke my fitbit I just kind of stopped.... :(
GTKY: and in the interest of NOT working... what do you plan to do when you retire (since I am already dreaming of that day)  Hubbz and I would like to retire someplace with a better cost of living (we're from California) where we can buy a big piece of land for cheap.  I can't imagine being away from our family though.

  • Went on a 13 mile backpacking trip this weekend, also running, bicycling and Barre.

My new goal is to work out 5 times a week. I am being more flexible with the type of activity as long as I'm getting a workout in. So, yes.

Retirement seems like forever away. Probably retire to the mountains and spend a lot of time outdoors/traveling.

What exercising did you do? jogging, elliptical, barre, swimming (was at disneyworld last week with my little cousins so got some good pool time in!)
Did you accomplish your goals? for the most part, yes. i didn't get any pilates in since i was out of town. i need to buy a prenatal pilates dvd that i can use when i'm traveling. i also worked out 4x instead of the 6 that i am for, but again not beating myself up over it since i was traveling and needed to be a little more flexible.
GTKY: and in the interest of NOT working... what do you plan to do when you retire (since I am already dreaming of that day) i have NO clue! i would love to stay somewhere abroad for an extended period (or even live there for a while). definitely something i will have to put more thought into!
  • What exercising did you do? I have been running and walking a lot lately which feels good! The first few minutes of running I always think I can't do it, but once I get going, it's not so bad!
Did you accomplish your goals? My goal is just to feel "not gross" so not easy to quantify, but yes :)
GTKY: and in the interest of NOT working... what do you plan to do when you retire (since I am already dreaming of that day) I would love to have a sailboat and sail up and down the coast. I love the water.

  • What exercising did you do?  Sunday fam bike ride, Mon off, Tues gym, today boxing class, tomorrow run and Fri step.
Did you accomplish your goals?  my goals are always bigger in my head - I really want to start prenatal yoga, probably do it once the summer ends
GTKY: probably travel a bit at first, sell our home after kids leave and get something on a beach/golf course and hopefully we're still skiing so we'll have a mtn home too
  • I did T25 lower body, ellipitcal, weights and a prenatal barre class.

Still hitting 3-4xs week for workouts and then getting at least 10,000 steps a day.

Im excited because I am going to join a prenatal fitness center in Sept and they do barre, yoga, pilates and bootcamp!

    No idea about retirement!
  • What exercising did you do?  I was able to get to the pool 3 days this week for a total of 4500 meters.  Did my cheesy workout videos on the other days.
Did you accomplish your goals?  Yep.

GTKY: and in the interest of NOT working... what do you plan to do when you retire (since I am already dreaming of that day)  I do not see that day ever happening.  I'm on a 3 year maternity leave but still have some hefty loans that require me to go back to work.  I can see myself teaching though at some point when I feel too old for one on one patient care.

  • I joined a training group for a half marathon. We started Sat with a 3 mile easy run. Last night was a 5k time trial - it was rough with temps in the 90s and high humidity. Not being last made it a personal victory.

The target race for the training group is on Jan 10. I'm not due until Feb 28. I asked my Dr about it - she didn't say that I can't run the race, just that I won't feel like it.
  • So tired of being on crossfit restriction. Don't really feel like working out unless I can jump on a box ;)
  • If you consider doing choirs a workout. lol actually it started raining right when I wanted to go for a run.

No, I didn't accomplish my fitness goals today. But I did get all the laundry folded and cooked a healthy dinner.

GTKY: that's SO far away hah, but perhaps I'd live on a beach relaxing. :D
