NCDR Dingy towels?

Since I started CDing I pay so much more attention to our laundry! I now know that my laundry tends to look worn faster because we have hard water. But I've also been noticing lately that some of our towels, bath towels, tea towels, hand towels, that sort of thing are looking dingy. I've heard about using some sort of baking soda concoction but I just wondered if you ladies had any tried and true fixes (since you seem to know about everything!) I would rather use something simple and not completely full of chemicals but I'll take any suggestions.

I put 10-15 squirts of Simple Green in a warm rinse or quick wash and then wash on hot with detergent. Simple Green really helps with dinginess, IMHO.

I've done a hot wash with a cup of white vinegar followed by a hot wash with half a cup of baking soda. That works really well to get rid of any old towel funk and also improves the absorbency. I don't know how well it will work on dingy-ness though, because I've only ever done it with gray towels.

I did an RLR strip on my towels, and some clothes a while back. They look like new!

Thanks for the suggestions! I have vinegar and baking soda in the house. And I actually have RLR. Not sure why I didn't think of that one! Did you soak them @countrycotton‌ or just put it in your machine?

I just added it to my machine and did the longest wash I could, I stopped the cycle before it drained and started it over. Then added a extra rinse.
