  My 11 week old will stare at the TV when it's on. I'm trying to avoid leaving her in a position where she has a good view of it for too long. I don't want it to become a preference for her at such a young age. I was really hoping to avoid her watching it for any length of time for the first 2 years, but I can see already how difficult that will be.

  They like the colors and patterns, as opposed to wanting to watch stories or characters. Mine does it too and I'm not worrying about it. That said, he's my second and..who am I kidding, I watched a ton of TV as background noise when his older sister was this age. At two, she will ask for it and only pay attention to it about a third of the time it's on.

  Yep, DS likes to stare at the TV when its on.  He also stares at the ceiling fan when it's moving, so I'm not too worried.

  I noticed Luka looking at the TV. I figured he liked the colors and noises. Also not worried about it. I'm not going to stick him in front of the tv but I'm not stressing if it's on, either.

  Also, the first month of Charlie's life was dedicated to watching all soxnseasons of The L Word before we pulled his sister from daycare. Boy saw a lot of full frontal.

  mine does too haha so I just leave it on Disney Junior when she can see it so that it is at least a little educational for her and with bright colors haha.

  For now I usually have her on my lap facing me if the tv is on in the evenings.  With , my first, I stopped turning it on when she was awake when she really started paying attention to it.  I'll do the same with this one (except for family movie night, which happens once every few weeks.  I won't exclude her from that, even though it means she'll start getting tv time at a younger age than her sister did).  Families all make different decisions about screen time.  Do what you are comfortable with.

  Yeah, I tell my DD it's a crib soother for grownups. Her other fav is also the ceiling fan, and the shadow of the ceiling fan. I'm sure I looked like an awesome parent the other day, showing my LO the fan in a friend's house. 
  
  She needs to face the other direction more often. She alwas looks right. If the TV gets her to look to her left for a decent chunk of time, and it's the food network, or the Mets game, then I think it's pretty good. At least it may help her from getting a flat spot on other side of her head.

  My husband is a liberal, west coast, Asian NASCAR fan (a demographic only he belongs to). He tapes the races while we are out on the weekends and Baby Noah loves them!

  @Internationalkate‌ She loved it! She didn't take her eyes off of the TV. I think it's because the cars are just whipping around. She loves ceiling fans too, I her to the lighting department at Home Depot and it was the quietest / happiest she's ever been.

  I was an only child growing up and TV was my comfort in the background while I played. It was on 24/7 pretty much on old TV shows like I love Lucy and bewitched and Gilligans island. I lived and I hardly watch any TV as an adult. Flame me, but I don't see it as that big of a deal as long as your kid isn't sitting watching all day. I liked to listen to it almost like a radio show.

  For the first month of his life LO watched all the seasons of OITNB and Game of Thrones. I'm nice enough to watch Masters of Sex during nap time but he's a sophisticated TV watcher already. Lol. He does absolutely love the Today show though. Al Roker is a fave. He gets all the smiles.

  Little one was loving master chef today. Every time the one contestant who dresses in really bright clothes came on, he would smile.

  Lol!!! :-) ok in all seriousness there is a baby channel (330 on UVerse) and he loves it!! At least it's made for babies lol

  DH noticed LO watching the TV yesterday and he put his hand by her face to block her view and she started crying. The second he took his hand away the crying stopped! Guess she knows what she wants.
