My sister mentioned that she had a doula that was in training and was therefor free. She had met her in a birthing class. I was wondering if anyone else had experience with a doula in training and where they met her. I'm currently looking for a Doula and starting the process of interviews and I would like to interview some ladies that are training as well.
Re: Doula
I just found this site and it's been really helpful (even if I still can't find a student in my area)
https://doulamatch.net/
I emailed 5 or 6 potential Doulas on Tuesday to see if they were available in January and if we could set up a meeting. 2 have gotten back to me so far, one said she no longer lives in NJ and didn't update her profile... and the other lives right in my town and she's in training. She has attended 5 births so far. I found this resource for asking questions:

What other questions can you think of? I'm so nervous! This is a big decision!
WE HAVE A DOULA!!!! she gets her cert after her next birth next month, but since she's not officailly licensed now, we still get the discount
She usually meets with her moms once before delivery, but since I'm still only 20 weeks (she usually sees moms around 28 weeks) she said we can meet twice
. She lives around the corner from me, she can WALK to my house
I'm so excited to have someone exerienced with my husband and myself when we bring this little girl into the world.
I emailed 5 doulas,
One emailed right away to say she was no longer in the state.
One said she has another delivery around that time
One said she no longer practices
and another never got back to me
So I only interviewed this one Doula, but I feel very comfortable with her. YAY!
Thanks for the list @misslizzy82! It's so detailed and really helpful
