Anyone else drinking it? I picked some up at the health food store yesterday. Red raspberry leaf tea and pregnancy tea. They were out of nettle leaf. I usually start drinking it around this time.

Me, me!!! I love it. I have no idea if it actually helped with labor, but I arrived at the hospital for DS fully dilated and ready to push. My GI suggested red raspberry leaf years ago for IBS cramps because it's proven to relax muscle cramps - just a bonus for anyone having GI issues.
RRLT is not oxytocic. It's meant to prepare the uterus and ligaments for labor, and can even shorten it by toning the uterus making it contract more efficiently. But this is best achieved over a period of time.
Some prefer to wait until the end of the second trimester or beginning of the third to begin drinking RRLT. I started around this time with #2, 3 and 4. Usually 2-3 cups a day, and then up it a lot the last month.
I was drinking multiple cups a day and brewed it really strong during the last couple weeks with my youngest.

Me!! I just started one cup a day this week at 22 weeks. I'll continue that until the 3rd trimester then I'll up the amount. I found Amazon had the best prices. I bought Yogi Women's Red Raspberry Leaf tea.
@MauraLou25 - I like the taste. I drink it even when I'm not pregnant, but stop during the first trimester and pick it back up toward the end of the second. It's yummy.

This site lists various teas and their uses/benefits (or risks) during pregnancy. My midwife this time only told me to cut back if I experience excessive uterine activity. Pregnancy tea contains RRL in smaller amounts than straight RRL.
Red Raspberry Leaf (Likely Safe) – Rich in iron, this herb has helped tone the uterus, increase milk production, decrease nausea, and ease labor pains. Many of the Pregnancy Teas commonly contain red raspberry leaf to help promote uterine health during pregnancy. There is some controversy about whether this should be used throughout pregnancy or just in the second and third trimester, so many health care providers remain cautious and only recommend using it after the first trimester."

It's so yummy! I avoid it during the first tri too.
I drank it after I got my IUD out and will start drinking it again in 3rd tri. I didn't with DS so I'm curious to see if there are any noticeable differences.
Can anyone recommend a good brand with decent flavor? I'm weird about herbal tea flavors, would rather take a recommendation fora good quality brand than just pick any old one off the shelf!
@Jezebel3745, I am partial to the Mamma Goddess Birth Shop blend that I get, but I'm not sure how available it is elsewhere. And it is loose leaf (not in bags).
Other brands I have had that I enjoy are the Traditional Medicinal, which has a really good flavor, and Earth Mamma Angel Baby's teas
@MaineMama is that the "Growing belly tea" that I'm seeing on their website? Or the Red Raspberry? (And now I'm looking at the Calming Mama and More Milk tea too... TB makes me spend money!!) How long does one bag tend to last? It says 3.5 oz. in the bag, but not how many cups it makes...
Yes, the Growing Belly tea! So good!
For me a bag lasts about 1.5months. I drink 4-5 20oz cups of it a day. Lol, I don't like plain water so I drink tea all the time My 1yo also eats a little of the dried herb blend each time I make a cup because he is a weirdo.
I love the traditional medicinals pregnancy tea, for me its the perfect flavor for fall and is super yummy with a little honey mixed in.
@pooky08 that's so funny, at work the other day someone asked what I was drinking and I told them it was uterus tea. At least I know no one is going to take it!
I've been drinking the Yogi Red Raspberry Leaf tea and just started adding in a cup of the Earth Mama Angel Baby Third Trimester tea. The EMAB tea is definitely more flavorful, but I'll keep drinking 1 of each every day until baby is here since I have so much of it. Lol
