Scheduled a dr appt yet?

A little background...

With dd when I called my ob to schedule an appt they scheduled me to come in early in my 5th week. I was very surprised bc all my friends weren't able to go in until around 8-10 weeks. Since it was my first pregnancy I was super excited and went with it. They did an ultrasound and of course didn't see a heartbeat. They said that I was measuring ahead and with no heartbeat that it wasn't a viable pregnancy and I would miscarry. Dr told me not to be surprised when I started to bleed and that there was no need to call. I was devastated and so confused. I demanded another ultrasound a week or so later, and low and behold there was a heartbeat and I now have a healthy dd. I obviously immediately switched docs.

My question...if you have already scheduled an appt when is your dr seeing you?

I'm under the care of an RE because I had a medicated cycle so I have already had 3 beta blood draws. I have a sono scheduled for 6w 5d with the RE, if all is well, they will release me to my OB. They told me to go ahead and call them, and they want to see me at 8 weeks.

First time around I went in at 5 weeks, but that's because I had been on painkillers when I found out I was pregnant so I was worried and they allowed me to come in early. They did an early sono and didn't see anything either but just told me to come back in a couple weeks to check again. I can't believe your doc did that to you! So glad you switched OB's!

I'm having my initial consultation and 1st ultrasound on September 17th. By their calculations (going by first day of last period), that will be 8 wks + 2, but by my calculations (based on conception) I will be 7 wks + 3. I'm happy to be sneaking in a little early! They said I don't need to go in for confirmation since I've already taken roughly a trillion HPTs and I've been taking them almost daily since my first BFP... Sorry you had to go through that with your first doctor! I can't imagine how I would have felt getting such a callous (and wrong) evaluation. I'm glad to hear you switched!!

I seeing my midwife at 8 weeks. For my first pregnancy, I switched from an OB to a midwife around 24 weeks. My OB saw me at 7 weeks and did an ultrasound then. I'm not sure if my midwife will do an ultrasound as well.

I have one sept. 23rd which puts me right around 8 weeks. That's what I did with the first as well. Your first doc sounds insane.

That Dr. Was crazy, i thought that was too early for U/S.

When I told my ob aug 15th(had a pap smear) that we were ttc. she told me after I get a pos hpt No rush but to give them a call and they'll schedule my apt where we just kind of go over stuff. So I made that apt for sept 8th after my visa since I will be off from wk. I Think I would be a little over 3 weeks, still super early .

My OB waits until 8 weeks to perform the first u/s. I have my first appointment scheduled for Sept. 25th which will be 8w1d.

OP - I am so glad you found a new doc ASAP. What an awful experience for you!

I actually just made my appointment this morning. I wasn't in a huge rush to call because I knew I wouldn't be going in until around 8 weeks, which is fine because any earlier and you risk not seeing as much on an u/s and being worried/stressed.

With DS, I called the day I got my BFP and they acted a little surprised I called so soon, so I just took my time this time around.

I have my confirmation/beta appointment next week. Supposed to be this week, but we are on vacation. They do a u/s typically at the 10wk mark at this office. They set it up off my LMP, which is three weeks off for me. LOL. I tried to explain, but grateful they did not care and giving me the early u/s. So my u/s is scheduled for Sept 15. I will be in my 7th week. She told me if I am infact 3 weeks behind they will do another to confirm growth after that one, since it will be so early.

I have my first appointment on September 13th when I will be 7 weeks and 1 day. They like to see people at 8 weeks, but I am out of town that week. At this appointment I will have a dating ultrasound, an internal exam (already dreading it), and blood drawn. I'm thinking that I ovulated late, although I'm not really sure, so it should be interesting to find out how far I'm measuring.

My doctor's office wants to see me at 8 weeks. My appointment is set up for 8+2. Can't wait for the day to get here!

I've got my first appointment with my midwife on the 8th. I think it is just to discuss the plan/process, etc. Since I've never had a midwife (used an OB last time) I actually have no idea what goes on.

I'm hoping that I still get an early dating ultrasound just to check that things are moving along as they should...

My old doctor for my first six pregnancies was big on getting you in right away. He would do a dating ultrasound sometime in the 6th week. I'm not sure how my new doctor is but the RE I'm working with will do my first ultrasound in the 6th week and then my care will be transferred to my ob.

My first is September 16th, I'll be 7wks+4 days. It's our first so I'm counting the days to get in there!!

I just got my BFP on Monday so I don't plan on even calling them for 2-3 weeks. With DS I had my first appointment at 9 weeks where I peed in a cup and didn't get in to see an OB until 12 weeks which is pretty standard here

I've already been in twice for blood draws. Thanks to an ectopic pregnancy in 2007, I'm at risk so they bring me in to check my progesterone and HCG levels. I go back at 9 weeks (September 22) for my first appt and u/s.

Since I had an ectopic I will go in once I am roughly 6 weeks and have a scan to make sure the pregnancy is viable. I then will have another scan around 9-10 weeks and then again at 12. If my first pregnancy was normal I would have blood drawn-pee in a cup appt at 8 weeks and a scan around 12-13 weeks.

I actually made a doctors appointment last week for this Friday to get a referral to a new obgyn because mine had a heart attack right as we were about to explore fertility treatments (this was our 12th month of trying). So I'm just going to keep the appointment, I have to ask him some questions anyways so I may as well keep it.
