  • Are you on the go allot? I find when I'm moving around i notice nothing, but at night when I'm finally sitting down i actually can feel the little movements... I'm just 19 weeks though. I felt my first baby at around 15-16 weeks and it felt like little bubbles ( if that makes sense). This one feels like tapping lower in my tummy. Every pregnancy is different , also depends on your body type, where your placenta is and how you are caring the baby. I would call your doc if your concerned, a little reassurance never hurts.

  • I'm 20 weeks and I still haven't felt movement that I knew for sure was the baby (rather than gas, stomach gurgles or muscle twitches). My obstetrician has told me that due to my anterior placenta I mightn't feel anything until 25 weeks. I wouldn't worry at this point! My anatomy scan showed a very active, healthy baby with a strong heartbeat, so I know she's in there and moving about even if I can't feel her yet!
  • I didn't completely know what I was feeling until 24 weeksish with #1

  • I've just not started feeling my little girl move and kick in the past few days and I'm 23 weeks today. I was just like you, worried sick that I couldn't feel her. Don't worry, you'll feel him soon!

  • Everyone is different and depending on your body and the baby's position, it is perfectly normal not to feel anything yet.

This has been discussed many times - you may want to review some of the older threads where a lot of different experiences were shared.

  • Try having some chocolate and then laying down on your side. Be still and quiet. You might feel him. But I wouldn't worry yet.
  • More than likley you are feeling things but just dont know thats what they are! Thats how it is with your first. Also, they are still little at this point so if hes facing your back or something you may feel his kicks as back pain instead of what you think kicks should be!
  • 20 weeks here.  I thought I felt a very brief movement yesterday but I'm not sure if it was baby or something else (my digestive track has been a little off since pregnancy after all).  My OB is not concerned though because the LO loves to move around when she's got the doppler out.  I'm heavier and it's my first so while she says I may start feeling things now it may also not be until week 25 that I start to really feel anything.

As everyone has said, don't worry at this point.  Everyone starts to feel things at different points and while I know that "come on already!" feeling we will get there.

  • You might have an anterior placenta.  I had one with my last pregnancy and didn't feel movements until 22/23 weeks.
