If your ute and DHs sperm were cooperative, what would be the ideal number of children for you and your SO to parent? Why?

Re: In an perfect world, how many children would you want to have?

  • I used to want 4 before I had Josh.  Then the reality of parenting and working full time set in.  Now I think we will persue it until we have 2.  But in my heart of hearts I will hope for three.
  • I've always wanted 3, and I don't really have any particular reason why.  Three just feels right.  I grew up with one biological sister, two step-sisters, and a massive extended family, so I guess 3 just seems like the right balance between a sufficiently busy home and that "OMG I'm never going to be able to retire" threshold.  I still haven't given up hope that my body will work things out before I become too old to pursue a third but I'm also not holding my breath.

  • I used to want 3, but the reality of work, $ and raising children has brought us to 2. Now if only my body would cooperate!

  • In this magical world of cooperating utes, is money no object?  Because I would love a small army of children.  Seriously, I want to populate the Earth with people who will care for me in my old age.

Honestly though, I've always said 3 or 4.  We'll probably stop at 2 for financial reasons.

    Yes, why not :)
  • In a magical world where money issues, IF, PTL, and losses don't exist I would want 3+ living children. I honestly don't know how many. I just know for sure I want at least one more.

  • In a perfectly trouble-free world, I would want 4. I started too late for that, though.

DH actually wants to adopt one day, so you never know......

Agree. If money is no issue and my body would allow it I am so in for a small army of children. MH would only be in it so I would finally allow him to get his 15 passenger van he's been dying for since we were 16. Yeah. This guys in it for a van. His own little following would just be a bonus. ;))

  • In my magical world, I say 4. In the real world minus fertility issues, I'm good with two. I don't like odd numbers!
    image
  • I used to think I wanted only two, but after loosing my third pregnancy, and the fourth, I've decided I do really want one more. Due to infertility issues, my children are spaced pretty far out in age - 11 and 5 (and then a newborn if we ever get there). It's nice though, because only one is in daycare at a time. But I'm not getting any younger either. :)

  • I voted 2. I would really like to have just 1 more! :)
  • I'm going with 4. My husband and I each have a child from a previous relationship. They are 10 and 11 and I don't want our next child to seem like an only child, so I'd like two more at least. We'll see if that actually happens. It'll be hard to afford another round of IF after we have one baby with 3 kids and either an infant in daycare or one less income. I'm really hoping we can make it work though.
    **siggy warning**  **everyone welcome**

  • I would like 4, I have convinced DH that we can handle 3. Really hoping that will finally happen one of these days. As others have mentioned, the age gap is getting bigger than I would've preferred (oldest will be at least 8), and I am creeping in on 38yrs old ....
