UPDATE: decided on a job!

Hey all! Just wanted to share that I'm officially staying with Boston Public Schools as the art teacher at the very first public Montessori school in the district! Me, 11 other teachers, 1 other specialist (PE - but he only works 1 day/week), and 88 kids will be piloting this new school adventure together. Had orientation today and - surprise! - I *will* have my own classroom this year after all (they told me flat out I'd be on a cart back at my interview in April, so this is a huge surprise)! Based on my teaching philosophy, financial situation, and the little baby on the way, I feel like I've made the right choice...hopefully this feeling sticks :)

Thanks for all your support and help with decision making, and allowing me to process this whole ordeal through you ladies all summer! It was a huge help and now I'm excited to start the year strong!

    So silly question....what happens when theres a holiday? Will u get holiday pay or an extra day off???

    Well there's the rub...I don't think I get pay for the holiday Mondays, since I'm hired as a 0.8 educator (4 days/week instead of 5)....but heck, the pay's not bad as-is and I get an extra weekend day, so I'll take it :)
