Hello ladies
Had my first appointment today, and I was terrified. We went to this new radiology place I hadn't been before. Then, I had a guy tech for the first time ever. It was only awkward because he was overly cautious. He was like "make sure you cover up" and had my insert the probe and had a chaperone there, even though my husband was there. I've never had a guy do it so I don't know if that's normal.
Anyway....we saw our baby!!! I was so terrified we'd see nothing, or no heartbeat which would be totally normal at 6w 1d. But, we have a heartbeat!!! 95 I think he said, which I believe is normal for so early. Saw that little flicker and instant relief. He wouldn't tell me much else, not even my due date...he said my OB would call me once she saw it. Though H thought he saw 6 weeks and something when the tech was measuring. Plus, if we have a saw beat then obviously we're right on track.

For male staff in those situations it's pretty normal to have a chaperone. Even my ob has a chaperone if there's any breast or vag exam.
