Because I learned this the hard way and I want to offer some advice since I've seen some posts regarding breastfeeding.
If you are allergic to (or cannot wear) wool (like, if it irritates you to wear a wool sweater) then don't use Lanolin. "Lanolin, also called wool wax or wool grease, is a yellow waxy substance secreted by the sebaceous glands of wool-bearing animals. Most lanolin used by humans comes from domestic sheep breeds that are raised specifically for their wool."
When I was in the hospital, I was using lanolin after attempting to nurse and was in so much pain (some people say nursing doesn't hurt, it did for me...) and the Lactation Consultant asked me if I could wear wool. I told her no. She told me to stop using lanolin ASAP and just use coconut oil or olive oil. The Lanolin was irritating already very sensitive skin and not helping with the pain I was having (pretty much just making it worse). So just a heads up!
