So, I have a close friend who offered to throw us a baby "sprinkle," which I understand to be a toned down version of a shower. I have an 8 year old son, and have always thought that a shower for any children after the first was tacky and gift grabby. My friend's view is that it's been so long between pregnancies that it wouldn't be tacky, and that being a sprinkle instead, there wouldn't be any big gifts, just smaller things like clothes, bottles, nuks, etc. Curious what the general opinion is on this. I told her I had to think about it because I'm still not sure how I feel about this.
(I have a cousin who has a 3 year old and is about to pop with baby #2, and just had a BIG shower asking for all sorts of large gifts, and I thought it was horribly tacky of her; so I kind of feel like this is not far from that. Thoughts?)

Totally ok, I would agree to the "sprinkle" regardless of how many years between babies
Given the gap between babies, I think it's ok to do
I think it's tacky, and would side eye it like crazy
Never ok to have a shower after the first baby

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:6-7
