I'm still down 4 pounds at 18 weeks, and I definitely have a big baby growing in there. I was in the normal weight range when I started, but lost 9 or 10 quickly and have been slow to gain it back. My doctor isn't concerned. But I do ask them every time. I would just ask your doctor.

I don't think there's a set ammount of weight that you should have gained by now, every pregnancy is different because every woman is different. I was concerned about lack of weight gain, I had only gained 2 pounds by my last appointment a month ago. My doctor said she wasn't concerned about it because the weight will come, and I was still recovering from morning sickness at that point. She was right because at 20w5d I have gained close to 5 pounds since that last appointment.
I've gained 10 lbs at 19 weeks, but everyone is different as PPs said. Ask your doctor at your next appointment. They always weigh me at each appointment, and I assume they would say something if I was gaining too much or too little.
7 1/2 pounds is about how much the baby will weigh by the end of pregnancy.
1 1/2 pounds is how much the placenta weighs.
4 pounds is attributed to increased fluid volume.
2 pounds is the weight of the uterus.
2 pounds is the weight of breast tissue.
4 pounds is because of increased blood volume.
7 pounds is attributed to maternal stores of fat, protein and other nutrients.
2 pounds for the amniotic fluid.
Total: 30 pounds
In general, fat stores increase during the first 20 weeks and baby weight increases more during the second 20 weeks. Unless you were underweight pre-pregnancy, you shouldn't worry about gaining too little weight up until now. Your doctor will tell you if he or she is concerned.
I gained 1 lb between my week 12 and week 16 appointments, and my doctor made a point to tell me that was "very good" that I didn't gain too much. However, I was about 15 lbs overweight when I got pregnant so it is better for my weight gain to stay on the low side.
I lost 5 lbs between weeks 6 and 10. Put one back on from 10-14, and another pound from 14-18. So overall I'm still down 3 from my pre pregnancy weight. My doc didn't seem worried at my appt today, she just said to try not to lose weight at this point. I'm not a big eater, and embarrassingly enough, I think my pre pregnancy weight was kept up by weekend dinners with lots of wine (in laws love to drink). Cutting out alcohol has made weight management much easier for me. FYI I'm 5'9" and started at 160. I wouldn't worry too much, but definitely consult your OB with any questions or concerns. We're all different :-)
