AW: My fun trip to L&D

Yesterday, I spent the day helping my husband get ready for his first day of teaching. I felt perfectly fine all day. Maybe a little tired, but that was all. So we got home last night around 6:15 and I started having some UTI like discomfort down in my lady parts. I've had it before, usually from not being hydrated enough or something. I drank a bunch of water, took a warm bath, and went to relax in bed. The discomfort did not go away at all and in fact progressed to being horrible shooting pains. Probably around 8:30 it got so bad that I was crying and had a couple of contractions. I decided to call the on-call doctor and she, of course, sent me to L&D.

The baby is totally fine and was moving around. She kept trying to hide from the monitor or kick it off. The contraction monitor showed the I was having little cramps pretty consistently, but no contractions until maybe an hour or so into the visit. I probably had a mild contraction a couple times an hour with one relatively large one. It was weird to see it on the screen, but it did confirm that I have been having some BH contractions a few times a day. They checked me for an infection and everything else they do with a urine test, but, as the nurse said, it was clean as a whistle. Whatever was causing the cramps and contractions wasn't causing my cervix to do anything. So, horrible pain had no determinable cause. In the end, they gave me a shot of stadol which hurt pretty bad actually. It did make the pain go away, though it made me feel super weird. I still feel weird and I got it 7 hours ago.

I am now home and feeling better. I am having a massive amount of anxiety and am going to spend the day either out at my mom's school with her or at her house with her SO. I just am having a rough time and don't want to be alone. Sigh.

Glad you're home safe and sound and that the baby is fine. ((hugs)) That experience must have been so stressful! Definitely try to relax today to ease your stress level; feet up with a good book and plenty of water.

Oh no! I'm so sorry that you had to go through that but I'm so very happy that you are home and both you and the baby are safe and sound. I don't blame you for not wanting to be alone today though - go be with your mom or her SO and just relax. Take care of yourself.

Oh man, how scary! So sorry you had to go through that and are feeling anxious now - totally get it. I'm glad you're feeling better physically, though and am glad you'll be hanging close by to other people. **HUGS**

I'm so sorry you had to go through that and didn't get an answer what was causing it, but glad you are feeling better. FX whatever it was doesn't happen again. I don't blame you for not wanting to be alone. Take it easy today and take care of yourself!
