When is everyone planning on announcing and does anyone have any cute ideas?
I'll answer my own question. We plan on telling immediately family now and everyone else after the 1st trimester is over. We told my parents today. When they came over I had DS in a "Big Bro" shirt. It took them awhile to notice, but their reaction was priceless. I think we will tell my MIL the same way. DS is having his 2nd birthday pictures next weekend, and I am going to have the photographer snap a few announcement pictures too for when it's time to announce on Facebook.

Re: Announcing
Cute ideas!
So, so far we have only told people whose support we would want I'm case of a loss. We will tell other close family members in person (like the great-grandparents-to-be) in a couple weeks when we visit, and then we'll tell the world at large at the end of 1st tri.
We haven't told DH's parents yet, although I'm dying to. DH wants to wait until we see them in person, which should be in the next couple of weeks. We're not planning anything really, we're just going to tell them "we're expecting!"
As far as everyone else, we decided we would wait until our first doctor's appointment just to make sure everything is OK. I'm bursting with excitement and want to tell everyone, but I'm working on my patience. I don't know what kind of announcement (if any) we will do. With a future pregnancy, I'd LOVE to do the big brother/big sister shirt idea! Sounds adorable!

My parents live 4 hours away, so I sent an email with pictures of the shower remodel my husband has been doing in our guest bath for the past month. At the end, I included a picture of a onesie with a caption on it that said, "Baby T: Spring 2015!" I called as soon as I sent it and asked my mom if she got the pictures. She didn't want to get off the couch to look at them until my dad said, "Oh, now I know why she wanted you to see this!"
I told my in-laws I saw some books that made me think of them. I handed my MIL "The Granny Diaries" and my FIL "Don't Sweat Guide for Grandparents". It took them a second and then they both cried. This will be their first grandchild, so it was a little extra special telling them (my parents have 4 grand kids already).
I have some ideas for when we make it public too but I haven't decided which one to use yet.

We might tell my parents in the next couple of weeks, but haven't decided if we'll do anything special or just tell them.
For everyone else we'll wait until after 12 weeks. Since Halloween is at 14 weeks, I'm thinking about sending a Happy Halloween family pic to friends and family. Me in one of those Halloween skeleton baby shirts and L in her costume and H in whatever and have it say something like, Happy Halloween from H, Nessie, L and our new little pumpkin arriving in May.
I told DH with a photo shoot I had set up months ago. Just was waiting for the BFP to put it into action. I told DH at the photo shoot. It is a bit of a joke with us, as we are a first responder family, so I tried to add in a little humor. We have used the picture to tell our friends and family. I will use it to announce to the world when we are ready to do so as well. Sorry if you are seeing this again. LOL

Yup. DS is Tommy Pickles! Nothing like living with an escape artist.
Just another cloth diapering, baby wearing mama.
For the FB announcement, our state fair has an alphabet city where you can take big letter signs and display a message on them for a photo. We took one of our son holding the letters for Big Brother and it turned out adorable. We'll post that as our cover photo when it's time:) We're excited: simple, yet unique.
