TTC After a Loss

ovulation after early loss?

Hi, I'm new to these posts- but really need some advice.
After TTC for 3 months- we finally conceived in July. I got my BFP on 8/4 and unfortunately on 8/11 we went to hospital and discovered we lost the pregnancy at almost 5 weeks (4w5d). My hcg was back to zero by 8/12. Well my midwife said to count 8/11 as day 1 of my cycle. I bled a lil more than usual but not much (from 8/11-8/15) Well, I ovulate on cd14 like clockwork each cycle. But today is cd13 and my opk strips are not showing a positive :( The line appears but not as dark as it should be. Is it normal to ovulate a little late after a chemical pregnancy??
It is especially important because I am supposed to begin progesterone 2 days after ovulation....
Please help. Thank you

Everything or nothing can change in your cycles after you get a bfp. Just keep testing until you catch your surge. FX!

  • It's very common for cycles to be wonky after any loss, early or otherwise. Our bodies are not machines, they usually need time to heal and figure themselves out after any disruption.

  • Good advice given.  Best wishes to you on your TTC journey :)
  • When it comes to your cycle following a loss it really is unpredictable and you just won't know what to expect. Believe it or not it i happened to ovulate EARLIER than i ever have on my own before my loss which i find to be ironic. My cycle length has actually improved, with my follicular phase shorter. It had always been around CD30 and this past cycle (First ovulation since miscarrying) my body managed to O on cd21
  • I am very similar to @sassygirl51486 and I ovulate earlier.  IDK why.  My cycles have been about the same length.  I would following the recommendations already given about charting. It has saved me so much anxiety since I started.

I am sorry for your loss.

    Everyone Welcome

  • I'm very sorry for your loss. My cycles were very predictable before my D&C. They have definitely changed since then. I also recommend temping - it's helped me pinpoint my ovulation. Good luck.

  • Yeah same here, i failed to mention but temping has saved my sanity...I would feel lost without it as well. I need to feel in control to help myself out in this predicament. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and so much relief
