Bells Palsy at 30 weeks. Anyone else??

I was diagnosed with bells palsy 2 weeks ago at 30 weeks. i lost my taste then my entire right side of my face went paralyzed. I have not gotten any movement back. Only extremely horrible headaches and the sight in my right eye is now horrible. Has anyone else dealt with BP and has it progressed your labor at all?? Im 32 weeks now and have been a high risk case from the start but today i feel just terrible. Head hurts, contractions, short breath. I just need someone else I can talk to about it with...

I had BP but not while pregnant. I'm sorry you're going through that.

  • My friend had Bells Palsy while pregnant (last trimester). She chose not to breast feed when baby was born because she was on medication for the BP. Her face movement was restored and she was pregnant again 9 months later and delivered another healthy baby (no relapse of BP).

I'm so sorry, dear, for your situation. I'm sure the last thing you needed was thr Bells Palsy. Do doctors have any idea of its cause?
  • It runs in my family. But with my family their faces never regained movement. I am on steroids 4 times a day to strengthen me and the baby. I am heading to the doctor today to find out more. Wish me luck
