I woke up at 4AM last night with the worst headache I've ever had and some truly horrible vomiting. My biological mom had pre-eclampsia so the night nurse at my hospital told me to come in just to be sure and to get some relief. My blood pressure was pretty high but after a few hours of monitoring and IV fluids, they said baby was doing great and they didn't see any other signs that would point to pre-eclampsia. They did give me a big injection of morphine and another drug to stop the vomiting before sending me home (where I slept nearly all day). Clearly they wouldn't have given it to me if they didn't think the benefits outweighed the risk, but has anyone else had to have morphine while pregnant? I'm kinda freaked out because I've been so out of it all day today and my LO seems to be more sluggish too. I'm worried I hurt him by going to the hospital but no amount of Tylenol was going to cut it.
I'm still pretty zoned so sorry if this doesn't make much sense but I'm just hoping for some reassurance and to know I'm not the only one who will be so happy to not be pregnant anymore. Thanks all!

Re: ER trip with morphine injections
I don't have any experience, but I'm sure the doctors know what they are doing. Hopefully, you can continue to rest and tomorrow you and LO will be feeling much better and moving all around!

I was given morphine in my 3rd tri during my last pregnancy because I fell and completely dislocated my hip, and other than knocking me out, all was fine. For the vomiting they probably gave you Phenergan (most common for nausea) and that is what my OB prescribed me for my m/s during my last 3 pregnancies.
I hope you get feeling better soon! Creepy (((hugs)))

It might make baby a little sleepy (and you a little woosey) while your system processes it, but everyone will be fine in the end. Don't stress.

So far, so good with this little guy!!
I never had migraines before pregnancy so they have taken me completely off guard. My heart really goes out to those who have these regularly. Glad to hear yours got better eventually and your LO is doing well!
I hope that helps a bit and you feel better! T&Ps
My mom had morphine during her second trimester with me and I grew up healthy and happy.
