Ugh, I'm so over leaking. We have been CD'ing for about 8 months now, and I have never had any problems with my Nicki Pockets. They started leaking the week before last. I've had stink problems too, so I was using just regular Gain for awhile until I figured out what detergent i wanted to use (it was all we had in the house ). I decided to strip them (washed in hot hot water 3 times) in case there was some build up. I also bought some cotton flats to replace the MF. I prepped the flats by boiling them for 20 min and then washing on hot with ecosprouts. I pad folded them (folded in half to form a square, then in half again to form a square then in 3rds, so there was 12 layers of fabric). They are still leaking! I adjusted the rise, they are still leaking!! I have cotton prefolds that absorb fine for me, so I dont know what is wrong. Do you think they aren't prepped well? Do you think I need a different material? I change him about every 2 hours. Any suggestions? Im sick of washing mountains of laundry!

DD was a super-peeing-machine and would easily soak through a flat-stuffed pocket. I resorted to stuffing with a flat and a hemp insert from about 11 - 20 months. Then I pretty much gave up on pockets and had her in large prefolds + a cover until she toilet trained (since large PFs wouldn't fit in the pockets I had and medium PFs weren't absorbent enough).
I don't think it's something I got on the dipe. Like i said, I stripped last week and haven't used anything bad since. Sometimes we put California babies cream on him, but rarely. And it's cd safe.
I was really checking fit and I didn't visibly see gaps.
It's got to be absorbency. Blast, I was so liking the flat.
This has been going on for 2 weeks now!! We are still leaking! I stopped using the flats, and am further prepping them as we speak. This is what nickis diaper customer service recommended. I decided to try a cotton prefold in my nickis pocket. My pefolds hardly ever leak (then again neither did my Nicki pockets until 2 weeks ago). It was doing great all morning, went to change him, and noticed he leaked out the side. Usually he leaks out the front. I checked the fit super carefully and it looked fine.
This is making me think that its something on the fleece of my pockets because he is leaking out of all my pockets. No matter what they are stuffed with. (I think, I'm going to try a RaR with a prefold next, and if that leaks then its something on the fleece) I was using California baby diaper cream occasionally, but its cloth safe. I was also using tide original liquid. I was thinking I screwed up using liquid. I ran through like 3-4 super hot washes with no detergent to try to strip them last week and have been using ecosprouts since. I didn't dry after the washes. Should I have? Do I need to strip another way? Suggestions? I can't take it anymore! I'm about to give up

The top 1/2 is pretty soaked, the bottom half is dry.
Update:
The cotton prefold worked in the RaR pocket this time. So its my Nicki pockets and my flats that are giving me the issue. I've washed my flats 3 more times and I'm going to try them in a RaR pocket and see what happens.
What should I do with my Nicki pockets? Strip? How?
