Super swelling of feet?

I'm going to call my OB tomorrow for advice but wanted to know if other moms are experiencing this? I've had slight swelling in my feet for awhile now but nothing major. Well ever since yesterday after being on my feet for only 1/2 hr or so they are getting super swollen. Like almost to the point of hurting & they look disgusting. I was just in last Friday & blood pressure was fine and baby was doing great! I don't think this is a crisis situation but it is a little unnerving. I'm 23wks 4days.

  • I haven't had it yet, but it's happened to me a couple times in the past not pregnant - usually from flying.  Good call to get in touch with your doctor, I've heard it mentioned that it's worth looking into if it happens suddenly. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it's no biggie. :)

  • Probably obvious...but have you been eating anything salty? What about drinking lots and lots of water? Is it really humid where you are? Regardless, elevate those footsies and let us know what the doctor says tomorrow.
  • Are you drinking enough water? I've heard that helps with the swelling.

  • Oh ya I drink tons of water all day. I do have about a cup of coffee every morning but then it is water all day long. I get down about 3 or 4 32oz cups of water. I didn't eat the best over the weekend as we were out of town visiting family but I didn't think it was that bad! Maybe I didn't get enough water over the weekend? Idk, I'll let ya know what the docs says tomorrow.

  • My left foot/ankle does it off and on. The heat is a factor for sure. Up your water and elevate! Good luck!
  • My edema was out of control and causing major joint pain. My MW asked me to give up gluten. The swelling and pain were gone in 24 hours and haven't been back.

Most likely they'll ask you drink water and elevate your feet. Good luck!
