Post Baby Pads - what are you going to use?

I cruised down the feminine hygiene aisle at Target over the weekend and noticed that there seem to be some different pad options now than there was with DS. Foam pads? What are those? I know with DS I used Always Infinity Extra Long with Wings and they were fine (as far as pads can be 'fine' - ugh, I hate pads). What are you planning to use?

Re: Post Baby Pads - what are you going to use?

  • FTM here so no real experience but I stocked up on Always Infinity with wings like you mentioned in your post. Those seemed to be pretty popular in other posts I'd read about this topic. If those don't work well, then DH can go and get a variety for me to try :) I'm with you though, absolutely hate pads...

  • I have some Infinity pads from last time, but I'm hoping to have some momma cloth sewn up by then. The pads really irritated me and had a burning feeling. I didn't even have a vaginal birth... it wasn't fun at all. :(

  • I used the long diaper style from the hospital at first. Ya kinda need that thickness in the beginning. Once things taper off enough that normal pads work, I just buy the ginormous box at Costco because I typically don't use them and at times, I have two teenagers needing pads so I stock up when they're on sale.
  • Always Infinity all the way! The thinner the better since I hate pads and feeling like I'm wearing a diaper.  I found that the heavy flow then regular worked well last time.

  • I took as many as possible from the hospital because those were the ones that provided the most coverage for me. When I ran out, I debated using depends lol but eventually ended up with Stay Free maxi pads with overnight protection.
  • I need something with a more cottony feeling then always (they tend to have a plasticy-ness to them and irritate me)  So I may be one of the odd ones but I like the kotex brand, I start with overnights and then move my way to the thin long ones.

I bought the Always Infinity Overnight Long with Wings. I was actually overwhelmed by the selection as I haven't worn pads since I was 13 so they've definitely beefed up the options. I just picked the brand I used to use and the most diaper-ish sounding protection I could find.

  • Honestly, I have the Always infinity from pre- bfp but I'm seriously considering depends.

  • I took one bed pad from the hospital and never used it.

  • I just used the same pads I always keep as backups for my period - always, the medium length ones, with wings. By the time I used up all the hospital pads, the regular always were enough.

  • Btw totally take any bed pads they give you. They're nice for diaper changes with huge blowouts lol, less laundry.

  • I bought the huge Always Maxi overnight. They look huge. I also have some Always Infinity pads from before so I will use those once it lightens up.
