My blood pressure has been creeping up with my weight. I'm 34 and this is my first pregnancy. When I am healthy and thin and working out my BP is normally 130s/70s but when I gain weight and don't work out my BP is 140s/80s - which is where is has been during this pregnancy. My 30 week check up it was 148/89. I've gained 40 lbs so far! ( I know not good but I worked out avidly prior and haven't been feeling hot most of the pregnancy so I stopped). So they started the blood work and 24 hour urine collection for preeclampsia. Then the retook my pressure ( now I'm freaking out) and it went up to 152/98 so they sent me to maternity triage for monitoring. I was there for a few hours and my bps when down to my typical 140s/80s and they told me to take it easy but be ready for an early induction. They said at best 37 weeks but I should be ready to go at any time. Oh yeah, and keep calm, cut back at work, etc. Now I'm totally freaked out. I had so much planned to do for the next 2 months. My shower is in 2 weeks so I was waiting to buy stuff until after then. Plus possibly having to take off this much work is going to be tough financially, I can't relax cause I'm freaked. My doctor is supposed to call early this week with lab results and give me more info then. Anyone going through similar stuff?
Re: Hypertension, trip to maternity triage at 30 weeks
I know bed rest sucks, but if it will help keep baby cooking, you might ask them about it. I know it is hard but don't stress cause we all know that makes it worse.
Fingers crossed you have no other signs of Pre-E. I think that was kind of crappy for your Dr to throw out induction timing when he/she doesn't have all of the info yet. Just try to relax and take it one day at a time for now! Good luck!
