Induction Monday - no name for baby boy yet!

Ok...I posted on here awhile ago trying to finalize names...and here we are 3 days from my induction date and we still haven't agreed. I think it will come down to what our little man looks like in the hospital.

We have narrowed it down to Reed or Evan. Last name is Lorto....pronounced Lore-Toe (not Lor-dough) so it has a French sound to it.

We really like Reed, but are worried that it is a little to out there for us. Big brother is Gavin, so we are worried about Gavin and Evan sounding too similar.

Any thoughts or suggestions? We really like short names....ones that can't really be nicknamed...and we don't like anything with an "x" in it.

Sorry!!! When I said "out there" I didn't mean popular...I meant just not your typical boy name. I never really saw or met anyone named Reed so it isn't a traditional name in my opinion. We like it but are afraid of people being like, "that is grass..." or "that is a musical instrument" or "isn't that a last name?" ya know? lol

I like Reed the best for your sibset. Evan is too close in sound to Gavin IMHO. I don't think Reed is "out there" at all. It's not overly common but that's nice:) good luck with everything!

Thanks everyone! You have made me and hubby feel a lot better. I wasn't sure how I felt about Gavin and Reed together but it is nice to hear that it sounds good as sibling names!!

I notice a lot of people prefer it spelled Reid too...that was another debate earlier that we got through! haha. I'm not sure why but we prefer it Reed....I feel like it is more masculine or something? We also know a bunch of people with Reid as a last name so it works better for us to be Reed.
