Constant Soreness?

edited July 2014 in Babies: 0 - 3 Months
Hi ladies,
Just wondering if anyone else is sore all over and what you're doing to combat it. My lower back muscles have ached since the day DS was born (8 weeks ago); I'm blaming breastfeeding, lack of sleep, and lifting a giant newborn. I also have tired calves and arms. Anyone else sore? What are you doing to feel better? I'd love to say my nights are filled with massages and bubble baths, but ain't nobody got time for that! I need some coping ideas other than Tylenol and the occasional glass of wine.

Re: Constant Soreness?

  • yes my lower back kills me too - i attribute it to lifting new baby & carseat, awkward height of the pack n play.

not much to do here. i'm hoping it'll go away as my muscles get stronger. i just try to make sure my lifting posture is correct whenever i can, bending at knees and not at the back.

also adequate hydration and tylenol as needed.  i got a massage a few days ago - i wish i could get one once a week....but yea not happening!

  • I just had my baby boy a wk ago and I still feel like a dump truck ran me over my arms and legs ache. I do blame the breastfeeding, lack of sleep and holding a new baby. My dh has been giving hot/warm packs to use and it has helped a bit it relaxed the aches. He does tell me that my muscles will get stronger and use to holding baby and assures me these aches will go away soon

My DS is a month old and over time the aches do get better as times goes by and your muscles get stronger. Not much you can do but give it time. It does get better.

  • My DS is 9 weeks and I was having lower back problems in the beginning. It's gotten better with a bit of time, and also since I've stopped using the electric breast pump. When I was doing double pumping, my back was hurting so bad. Now I only do one side at a time, or most of the time I just use my manual.
