Trouble TTC a Sibling

Guess I should intro

I have a two year old and miscarried twins in May/June (it took a month) of this year. Technically tta now until I ovulate regularly again and heal emotionally/physically from the m/c. I stay home with my son and my husband and I run a marketing business together.

Nice to meet you all! I'm hoping this can be my home board until I conceive. Not sure I fit in on TTCAL since most of them are childless, but they seem great so I'll be on both boards... just won't be mentioning ds over there for obvious reasons. It'll be good to have a place to discuss the unique challenges associated with TTTCAS ... for example when the heck are we supposed to cry? My son is always with me so I have to suck it up a lot.

  • So sorry for your loss. The shower is a great place to cry. Even if your ds is there with you the shower water hides your tears. Or the car. He can't see you in the car. I had my m/c before both my girls and those were my 2 best hiding places for crying. Nobody to see or ask questions.

I was going to say pretty much the same thing. DD herd me sniffle in the car once and said "Mommy, why sad?" Broke my heart even more. I've resorted to doing my best to wait until nap, bed time, and showers. Told DH the other day I needed to cry so I was taking a shower. When he looked at me crazy I just replied with 'The water hides my tears' and giggled uncomfortably. I'm normally the one joking off situations that make me uncomfortable. This chapter of my life is posing to be a challenge for me. (((Hugs)))

  • Welcome, and I'm so sorry for your loss of your twins.  I agree that the car and shower are good places to cry.  I've also found that my DS doesn't seem to recognize that I'm crying if there aren't actual tears on my face, so I can quietly cry in the same room with him and just wipe the tears before interacting with him, and he's none the wiser.
