I know I haven't posted much or responded since going back to work in June. Between the baby DS's summer sports, starting school, and a promotion I haven't had time to bump.
@SassyFlats ? I'm still confused on all the name changes so I think there are a lot of people missing that really aren't.

Oh, hai there I miss you Bumpies. Admittedly, I am not even the best with staying up to date with M14 on Facebook; I spend most of my FB time on a particular cloth diaper b/s/t board cause I'm cray
Unplanned pregnancy July 2005; EDD 3/27/06; birthdaughter born 3/15/06 (38w2d) (placed for adoption).
TTC since December 2012, BFP 6/25/13. EDD 3/2/14. Baby Elias born 2/21/14 (38w5d)!
Not sure how often she had posted, but I have not seen @mamathefox since before March. She was one of the first people to welcome me to TTGP and M14, so I remembered her.
OT, but I just went back and read my intro from the TTGP board from June 2013. @Golferbee@babylimas and @bunnyfungo were some of the first people to welcome me, and then we were all here a month later.
Married 11/23/11, TTC starting 10/12, BFP#1 11/30/12, Adoption of stepson finalized 03/19/13,Loss of our daughter at 20w4d due to incompetent cervix 03/27/13, BFP#2 06/28/13, DS2 born 3/1/14.
I feel special!! I basically just stalk the bump every so often but don't really post much (no reason really besides just being busy!). And I am always mobile so I never see my notifications!!! I definitely am on FB a lot more! Sorry guys...
All is going well with us!!! The twins will be 8 months on the 4th...YIKES! K is so close to crawling it is scary. B will be right behind her. They are doing great with baby food and we are trying some BLW which has been going well. They want anything we are eating! B has a minor surgery in November that has me panicked but I am sure will be fine. I will be starting subbing part time and am actually quite excited about it! I am now also a Thirty-One consultant and it's been going amazingly well!!! I love it! We have had 3 family deaths in about a month recently and that has sucked. But other than that.... we are truly doing well! I hope the rest of you are too!
Hi ladies! I'm still alive. Someone posted on FB that I was mentioned here so I wanted to stop by and say that I also miss a whole bunch of you.... truth is I stopped coming around right around when Olivia was due because I was going mad with closing on a new house, work stuff and then Olivia. Then when things calmed down I actually came back around here quite a few times intending to check back in but honestly, it felt like all new people and I was so lost. FB was just easier since I'm on the phone all the time.
I'll try to be better about coming by. Though really all you regulars could just come over to FB and play with us there
BFP with #1 (twins!) 11/18/2011 - missed m/c at 8weeks3days; d&c 1/19/2012; myomectomy to remove 18cm+,10cm & 5cm fibroids 4/2012; TTC again 7/2012; BFP #2 (twins) 11/13/2012; missed m/c at 7weeks;
BFP #3: baby girl born 3/5/2014
@legallyginger is studying for the bar exam I think? If that's right then no way is she coming back until the test is over (good luck girl!)
I totally sympathize with bumpers who have been pretty inactive. even though I bump a lot at work (bad kimmy!) it's so hard to keep up with everything.
I was just on TB reading the "Your baby is xx weeks old..." article thingy and saw I had notifications! HI GUYS.
K and DH and I are doing AWESOME. Things were tough for a while at first but then we hit about 3 months and oh my gosh is she an awesome little chica. Happy and smiley and loves everybody. She's now really into the cats and they're all like "Well, okay.... I guess you can touch me for like 5 seconds but not more than that!"
I did leave the FB group after some dramz. It just made me really sad and angry and I didn't want to be like that. I'm still in touch with a handful of M14 peeps, but mostly I've gotten very active on my local breastfeeding FB group and I LOVE that. A girl actually flat-out GAVE me a baby merlin sleep suit when we were trying to transition from swing to crib a month or so ago. Today I had the opportunity to pay it forward and donated some frozen milk to a mama who went back to work this week and is having trouble figuring out a good pumping routine to get what baby needs. I'm so freaking excited to be in a position to help someone like that. I really hope that I made things seem not-so-impossible for her.
ALSO met three of those moms at our daycare orientation night-- hooray for mom and baby buddies at our daycare! K actually really loves that place, she's been going for about a month and is always SUPER excited when we drop her off... and then SUPER excited when I pick her up. I only work two days a week so the whole situation is just wonderful. Lots of time with my girl but we both get to go socialize with our peers, too.
She just started sitting on her own this week. WHAT.
Anyway, I just wanted to respond since I saw I was mentioned. I really enjoyed this board so much during pregnancy and I'm so glad I was here. You ladies helped me a ton-- both with advice and just making me feel not-so-alone-and-crazy. I found once baby arrived and I wasn't at a computer as much, it was just difficult to keep up. I hope that you're all doing great and enjoying those snuggly, squirmy little people! :x
I'm awful with names, but someone I've been wondering about for a longtime...she had short hair (from her siggy), a ds who was maybe a year when she got KU, she worked at Starbucks (in target I think)...anyone remember her name or know where she went?
Hi ladies! Allison and I are doing well. She's still a little peanut - our five month checkup isn't for another 2 weeks, but on the scale tonight she was weighing in at 13lbs 7oz. We started on rice cereal about 2 weeks ago and she loves having "real" food! We tried out oatmeal cereal today which she also liked, we just want to make sure she's not having a reaction to it. We're still fighting cradle cap issues on her jaw (we've had facial cradle cap off and on since about 2 weeks old) - her skin is SO sensitive and she breaks out for almost no reason, so we're making sure to keep up with the Eucerin and we're hoping it will clear up soon.
I lurk every few days or so, but after that last thread I just felt like I couldn't ask a simple question without being attacked - it was making me angry IRL, so I decided to leave for a bit. There are still some bumpies I'm annoyed at, which is part of the reason I haven't posted. But that's my issue to deal with, not theirs.
I went back to work this past week, and Allison had two trial days in daycare. She handled it FAR better than I did! The lead teacher in her room is wonderful and when I peeked in through the window she seemed very attentive to her. It seems she's going to be the first one there most days, so at least she'll get one on one attention for part of the morning.
Nursing - well, she never relatched. It seems that once my supply FINALLY came in after being on the domperidome, something flipped in her. Maybe my boobs felt different, maybe my flow was too slow, I don't know - but we've tried every trick in the book and with the exception of a few moments in the bathtub, she just won't do it. So she's bottle fed. The good news though is that the domperidome worked, and I pump around 20oz a day. She's EBM during the day and formula fed (partially by need, but partially by choice as she sleeps better) at night. This has also allowed me to build a stash that has over 200oz in it, which makes me happy because if my supply starts to tank now that I'm working again, I should be able to get to six months with her having had breastmilk.
The only other big thing with me is that I fell down my front steps and broke my arm in early July. It sucked. We had to hire a mother's helper for 11 hrs a day 5 days a week because I couldn't pick her up - I wasn't allowed - and for part of the time, wasn't able - to lift anything heavier than a coffee cup for a month. I'm not 100% yet but I'm well enough now that I have cared for her independently for the last week.
Thanks for thinking of me! I miss many of you who are not on FB. I don't know if/when I'll come back full time, but who knows!
RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me. You made my wedding day complete.
Oh hai I am mainly on Facebook these days - mostly because I feel like I don't have time to visit more sites and the FB stuff just shows up in my news feed! I'm trying to get back here a bit more though - thanks for thinking of me!
