Unmotivated and feeling lazy..

I know this is probably normal since being pregnant makes you feel exhausted, but even after I take a nap I never feel like doing anything! I always want to clean or do the dishes, or go for a walk, but I can never get the motivation to do anything and I just feel flat out lazy and useless while my husband works full time. And I feel so unhealthy because before I got pregnant I worked out almost every day and ate so many fruits and vegetables, but now literally nothing sounds good to me except maybe mac and cheese or chicken nuggets. I mean I am thankful I've been feeling all of these pregnancy symptoms because it's just proof there's a miracle growing inside me, but I wanna be able to be efficient and healthy still! Anyone else have this problem?

  • I been munching on cereal and grapes most of the day. Also been lazy and I'm tired.
  • Some of your guys' posts are so funny! I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I just started school (online) a month ago and the past couple of weeks have been so hard to get my assignments done. I totally feel you on the Netflix and feeling like I need to sit down after doing something. The prepping veggies is a good idea! I've also found that juicing fruits and veggies when I have enough to helps a lot..gives me all the servings and nutrients I need without actually having to eat them! I'm relieved to hear it gets better lol!
  • It generality takes everything I have to get my butt to the gym everyday still.  It helps that I coach there and have to show up and I am not going to go and not workout.  I am skipping today because I am too tired…oops.  

    My biggest thing is not eating junk.  I've been really good and now suddenly I want crap.  I try to limit it and really need to just stop and eat like I normally do!

  • I'm right there with you. I've never been one for exercise, but my laziness has skyrocketed over the last week. I have been too tired to even feed myself after work - I wait for DH to get home and make me dinner. He has been doing everything around the house, while normally we pretty much split the work. I hope for his sake that second tri will be better!

  • Thank you so much for this post! I left my nutritionist yesterday feeling sooo angry because I told her how I feel this way and her response was "that's odd! Usually when people are having morning sickness they crave lighter things like fruits and veggies..."

  • Same here on the Netflix. I just watched the old Cameron Diaz movie "The Sweetest Thing". I should be prepping for the upcoming week but I have no energy or desire to get out of bed.

    I wish I could eat some bacon....
  • Thank you for commiserating! I feel like a useless lump.. No motivation to get anything done around the house or for my quickly approaching school year. I take some solice in the fact that my body is helping my baby grow, so I guess I've accomplished something this weekend...
  • I decided to push myself out of the house and go for a walk at the beach. We walked leisurely, maybe a little over a mile total, with lots of breaks (incl a good 20 min of lying on beach) and it killed me! I was so exhausted walking back to car and immediately went to sleep when we go home. Lesson learned: just stay on the couch!
  • Right there with you sista! I was thinking the same thing today. I feel sooo bad because keep canceling all of my appointments, etc. I just don't feel well and I'm so freakin tired. Oh and all I want to eat are carbs! Like potatoes, bread and pasta are like heaven right now!
  • Hi! I'm new here...7w2d, due April 11. Feeling like crapola too with zero motivation! I love to run, but I haven't hit the pavement in 3 weeks due to exhaustion and near constant queasiness. I'm both repulsed by and ravenous for food of all kinds. I'm usually a very healthy eater but lately have been shoveling in starch after starch to the point where I appear further along than I am......I hear this gets better. Good luck to everyone, looks like we're all in the same boat.

  • Yep. Thank you all for sharing because it's so nice to know I am not alone. Normally, I am a pretty healthy eater & routine exerciser - but now... I am a all day netflixer & all I want is fried foods. Really looking forward to that second tri.

  • That describes me to a T with LO. I was in the gym 6 days a week and then I got pregnant and could not find any motivation for anything, washing a dish, cleaning up after myself even...I was just a slob who ate mcdonalds - something I hadn't eaten since I was probably 5!! And that elusive 2nd tri energy boost you're supposed to get? Yeah I didn't get it. But by third tri, I felt amazing! I had so much energy I practically renovated my entire house! Hang in there!

  • I feel so much better reading these too! We should start a Netfix support group while we are at it! My name is Nikki & I'm addicted to Netfix, red meat, chicken wings & Cheetos. I am also on only a walking regiment after running & lifting weights on a regular basis before pregnacy. Best of luck to everyone. Orange fingers out!
