  • It just seems like common sense for someone to know not to say things like that to a pregnant woman, it's asinine.

  • Aww. Don't worry about people.
  • And I know I have the "when are you due?" questions to look forward to postpartum.  I pretty much only gain in my stomach (which is great), but then I have my stomach to lose after.  People suck. ;)

  • My youngest is a year old and I still get comments from my MIL about how huge I was. Not cool. With my first she was like "I can't believe you're already showing!" at 14 weeks. Ugh. There is a special place in hell or at least a nice extended stay in purgatory for people who say shit like that.

The first thing my MIL said to me when she saw me in July (I was about 18 weeks and it was the first time she had seen me since she found out).  "My, your belly sure is big isn't it?" and this was coming from someone who knew how hard we worked for this baby and how much we wanted it. ugh,

  • I've gotten "You're fat now." Um hello... I just had a baby 6 weeks ago! Don't make comments about a woman's weight! Just don't! When will people learn....

  • People do suck!  When I was 15 weeks pregnant with DD I was told that I seemed a bit too big for15 weeks….thanks for that.  I also was told I was gonna have twins.  Doc must be wrong because 1 of them must be hiding.  Also told I would go into labor 3 months early….doc must be wrong again. Funny how people think they are smarter than doctors.  Nope, I'm just a short girl with a small torso.

  • When DH and I were first married my mom would occasionally ask me if I was pregnant or just getting fat.

  • I think that people have a very skewed perspective on how big pregnant ladies get. I think most don't see many very pregnant ladies and maybe TV and such portrays them as smaller than they are? It seems like people react in crazy ways to "normal" pregnant bellies. I just say, "actually, my dr says I'm right on track, size wise. This is the normal size to be when you're X months pregnant."
  • I use to get in the same day, "Are you sure you aren't having twins." and then a couple hours later by someone else, "Oh, you look so tiny for X weeks."

  • :-(

My friend was KU with her 2nd viable PG, and this 19 year old we curl with told her there was "no way she was going to make it 2 more months".  I told little-miss-thing how wrong she was on my friend's behalf.  My pregnant friend looked awesome!  And she was having a healthy PG.  I'd do the same for you, my dear!
That is so sweet. Thank you :)

I got asked if I was sure it wasn't twins at least once a week every week after 18 or so with Mallory.

    People suck.
About a month before my edd with DD3, a Grandma was at an indoor play place.  As I tried to get my 2 & 4 year olds out of there, she walked across the area to see, "How many babies are you carrying?"

Yeah, one - F-you.  Let me get my kids who don't want to leave outta here.

I am huge when pregnant, and I got those comments ALL THE TIME, too. One day when I went to lunch from work it was almost laughable. Like EVERYONE commented, even the random guy working on the parking meters outside the restaurant. I totally want a shirt that says due date, yes I'll make it, not twins. One baby.

I'm not quite to that comment stage yet this time, but I already can see people visibly look surprised when I say I'm due in January. Last time, it was "December" and people would mishear that as "September" at this time of year.

  • I did also have some people who were like, "Oh, you're so tiny!" That was just plain false -- on top of being strange and laden with weird body issues. I go with, "You look great!" or "How are you doing?" You know polite, conversational things you would normally say to humans!!

  • I get almost constant comments working my p/t retail job from customers.  The old ladies mostly feel sorry for me for how hot it's been lately.

  • I've said it once, and I'll say it again.... "you look beautiful!" is the only acceptable comment about a pregnant woman's appearance....and I'm sure you do, @trizzie‌. :)
You are very sweet, thank you. :)

A few weeks after I had Mallory I was tired of wearing yoga pants everywhere so I went to Target alone to grab a pair of shorts and a pair of capris.  I was looking at them and some woman comes up behind me and says, "Oh don't by those ones.  The cuffs will make you look fat."  My kid had been home from the NICU for like 2 weeks. I couldn't decide whether to cry or punch her. I went with "Uh huh" and walking away with the pants.  Fuck her I look good in those pants.
Wow what an idiot, what can you even say to someone like that...I'm glad you grabbed them anyways!

  • My FIL came up to me the other day and said "Damn, I do believe you're carrying a pony in there."

I wanted to say, well, at least I'm pregnant, what's your excuse??
