I forget when I started the Doppler with DD. I'm 9 weeks today and just wondering if I should whip the ol thing out. I never had a problem finding DD and it was in 1st Tri. So anyway, when did you successfully hear that galloping?

    I wasn't really successful until about 12weeks. But, I'm a FTM & chunky :) so I wasn't really sure what I was looking for at first.

    Yea I was definitely earlier than 12 or 13 weeks with DD.

    With this one I was able to find LO at 9w6d. With DD it was 10w6d. I would wait another week and then give it a try.

    Where are you finding it? If I put it on she kicks, but I don't hear anything and I'm 18 wks..

    I never allowed myself to try until I was 10 weeks. I was successful all 3 times, so I don't know if I would have found it sooner or not. GL!

    I heard it with this pregnancy at 9 weeks and I have a 3 MHz Sonoline B. I know that early is super rare and most find the heartbeat closer to 12 weeks and even then can be tricky.

    I am debating whether or not to purchase a doppler. I don't know whether it would ease my anxiety or add to it. LOL For those of you momma's and pgal gals who have one did it help you? I am just worried I would obsess over it like I did with pee sticks.

    With DD I used it every other day very quickly. When she started having daily movement I barely used it. But it was nice to have when I had a slow moving day too. I had the angel sounds with her. As mentioned I used it in first Tri. I just don't remember when.

    I was almost 10 weeks, but I also waited until right after an OB appointment, so I could kind of copy the area she was looking in and the pressure she had to use.  At first it still took at least a few minutes to find his HB, but by 14 weeks or so, I was a champ at it!

    I agree that Sonoline B is the way to go. I had success after I watched my MW find the HB at 10w5d. When left to my own devices and help from the internet I was in slightly the wrong spot and pushed to hard giving myself a stomach ache.

    I love my sonoline b. I heard LOs heartbeat strong starting at 9 weeks every day until 11 weeks. I went in to my appt at 12w5d and my fears were confirmed that LO stopped growing at 11w0d. I never made it far enough last pregnancy to try it, but you bet I will whip out my doppler at 8 weeks and start trying every day when that time comes. Hearing that heartbeat will be the only thing that keeps me from losing my shit until I feel kicks every day.
