PTing Questions about #2

As per my random post, PTing is going well over here, but I had a few questions on what you ladies are doing with regard to #2:

Since I have boys, I only wipe when he poops.  Are you guys letting them have a try at wiping poop?  I don't envision that ending well here, but if you do give them a try, how do you contain the used TP?

Also, T is so excited to "see poop", that he often takes 2 or 3 tries to finish pooping and may or may not have a dangler when he jumps up from the potty.  We've tried making him count to 10 and/or singing "Twinkle Twinkle" before he gets up, and that has helped a bit, but I wondered if anyone else had any other ideas.  Often times when he poops, he goes in to pee, and pushes so hard to pee a turd comes out, so I'm not prepared with books or anything to spend time in the bathroom.

    I don't let Cooper wipe his bum yet.
    He too will get up several times to admire his work. Often times he has me flush before he will fully finish. I will start singing or pull up a you tube video to get him to sit longer.

    With DD#1 we taught her to wipe her bottom a few months before she turned 3. The only reason was she was going to preschool. She had a hard time reaching to get herself truly clean.

    Currently DD#2 wants to wipe when she goes #1, but we always wipe for #2. Nobody wants to be washing poo of their toddlers hands!

    Thanks for the confirmation that no one else is giving them a whack at wiping #2.  I tend to go with my gut in the moment, then overthink my actions later :)

    @bellaxanthe - good thought about the big potty.  We'll try that next time he tells us he needs to poop.
