With a December baby I'm not sure how much we will be getting out, but I found a great deal on a bassinet for my stroller and I've always wanted one.... We have cool winters but nothing too severe- totally impractical or worth it?
Married my best friend 7/2/11 - Furbaby born 7/9/11
and brought into our home 9/1/11
BFP#1: 2/2/13 ~ exact m/c date unknown but
around 3/20 at 10 weeks ~ diagnosed with PMP ~ D&C on 4/5 ~ TTA for at
least 1 year due to PMP ~ cleared to TTC 1/14
BFP#2: 2/7/14 ~ m/c 2/20/14 ~ possibly due
to chemical pregnancy ~ TG no D&C is needed
Surprise BFP#3: 4/4/14 ~ super duper extra happy
(and nervous) about this one - EDD 12/9/14!!!
John Joseph was born on 12/12/14 at 7 lbs. 11 oz. He is the most beautiful rainbow baby we could have wished for!
I found a britax deal for $75- which is about half off the normal price, and significantly cheaper than another one I had been looking at for $200. I bought a baby jogger city versa on clearance for $200 so I've already saved a lot on the stroller, so feel good about that, but would hate to waste money if we won't have that many opportunities to use it.
You can use the Britax bassinet with the Versa but also need the Britax car seat adapters. Those are another $20 or so. Personally, I would buy a good body snuzzler and put baby directly in the stroller seat (fully reclined).
Yeah I was planning on the britax bassinet on the baby jogger frame with the attachments... Since the britax infant seat is cheaper than the chicco, and the britax attachment ($20) is cheaper than the chicco one ($50) I figured the bassinet was almost paid for - lol in a way that justifies me buying it... I'll probably think on it longer I guess, prob a fun to have vs actually useful
I cant think of a time I would have needed one and this will be my third... I guess I don't see the point. A baby can sleep in a reclined seat. Before he/she is old enough to do that, just get an adapter bar that your car seat clicks into. Otherwise you'd have to wake a sleeping baby in order to transfer to a bassinet, at which point, what if he/she doesn't want to lay flat?. Even if you did use it, it would be for such a short period of time.
I'm buying a stroller that comes with a bassinet simply because I plan on having LO sleep in it for the first few weeks. I also think it would be nice to have for walks outside with LO and the dogs.
Honestly when I got my Uppababy Vista it came with the bassinet and I hardly ever used it. I mostly used the car seat and just got the adaptor to hook it into the stroller. It was perfect because if baby was sleeping I just hooked it in an that was it.
Re: Should I splurge on a bassinet for the stroller?
