I was informed at my appointment yesterday, that I would have to have growth scans every two weeks. I know that it's because of my other health issues, But please tell me I am NOT the only one stuck with this crap.
Not have to or now have to? I have u/s every two weeks since I am having twins who share a placenta. The staff jokes I should get some sort of frequent flyer points with them. I like seeing the babies so often but I know it will get hard to juggle all these appointments once I go back to school.
I only get one more u/s (I think) and that is at my next appt, which is at 28 weeks. Every other u/s that isn't "medically necessary" is out of pocket. I asked for an extra u/s and they said no.
I'm a FTM, is there a special reason for two week scans?

I have an in home daycare, so I have to take them with me, which makes it a huge pain. I know its for the greater good, & I will do it, but UGH.
my reasons, or that I have a rare autoimmune disease, I have dropped almost 30 pounds since I got pregnant, & I am over 35. oh, I also have some vitamin deficiencies because of my autoimmune disease.
Oh der, I can't read. Sorry! No, I'm not in the same boat. I'm sorry that they are making you do that. Hopefully your OB is usually on time so you aren't sitting in the waiting room for an extra 20 minutes.
Did they say why? I would decline. But that is me under my circumstances, no risk factors, no history of anything, no AMA, etc. I'm very low-tech when it comes to all this. I'm bummed I have to have a follow up to my 20 wk a/s at 30wks. But it is necessary to check my placenta.
I am monthly due to my health issues. I know at a certain point we'll be adding weekly bpps. Plus I have to have appts with my endo 1-2 times per month. I'll be at one doctors office or another at least twice a week. It's rough. I'm having to remind myself it's worth it.
Right now I'm on a monthly u/s schedule at the perinatologist's, but if I have to go on meds for my blood sugars I'll go to weekly u/s and nonstress tests. Trying to stave that off as long as possible.

Concidering these growth Sono have to either do with issues with health of mom or baby, I would say it is better.
