Feeding baby meat?

Our pedi said to start feeding our LO meat (He is just over 6 months). We aren't using BLW and I'm pureeing all his food. 

I tried to puree some of the chicken we at last night and despite mixing BM with it, it still felt grainy. Is that normal? If not, any tips on how to make it smoother?
