I'm being silly, right? Halloween related

I bought DS' costume last week (Buzz Lightyear) when I showed it to him he wanted to put it on right away. Now, whenever I show it to him and try to put him in it, he freaks out and throws a huge fit. He will eventually put it on if I distract him with something else, but then he starts wanting it off. We are supposed to borrow the wings/jet pack from his cousin, so maybe that will make the whole thing more appealing. He loves Buzz. We are supposed to go to Mickey's Halloween Party for ToT at the end of Sept and I will be super bummed if he refuses to wear it. What can I do to make it exciting for him to wear it? Should I keep trying or just leave the costume put away for a while before trying it again. Do I need to change the costume? He's only 2.5, so he doesn't totally get the entire concept. It doesn't seem to be a particularly uncomfortable costume, it's loose, it fits him fine. There is an attached head piece like a hood that he doesn't like to wear, and I'm fine with that. Am I just being crazy and it will be fine?
Because you're mine, I walk the line....

  • You're crazy. He'll either wear it or he won't and life will go on. Maybe get him the buzz light year hoodie at disneyland and have that as an option instead

  • Do you have any other dress up clothes?  Does he LIKE to dress up?
I first think that he doesn't know the concept.

My girls have a million dress up outfits and dress up all the time, so it is totally normal.  We normally don't pick Halloween until September at least.  But we also tend to wear 3-4 costumes per halloween.  Last year my middle daughter was a flying money for 1-2 parties.  :)
