Fetal movement question

Hi everyone, I left a message for my OB hours ago, but have yet to hear back. I have had a strange week. I had low-average amniotic fluid on Monday (9cm), trace protein in my urine (which they said was not a concern), and three nose bleeds that night (not sure what that was about. Anyway, I haven't been feeling her very much. I feel jabs here and there, but not getting many kicks when I try and lay down to count. Is a decrease in movement as much of a concern as a lack of? I honestly just remember my boys always being active and never worried too much, because they were so active and strong. I do have an anterior placenta this time, too. I am feeling her, just not very much. When I went Monday, she looked great, 3.5 lbs, and strong heartbeat. Anyone have experience with this or advice? Still waiting for the doc. Thanks!

    I would call your ob back and tell them everything. I was told yesterday at the OB that any decreased movement was a concern. Anything else out of the norm would be concern also.

    Call back, just to be safe. Decreased movement is normal later in pregnancy - it goes from crazy acrobatics to more stretchy movements because they run out of room. And with the anterior placenta, it's hard to say. But it's always a good idea to call when your gut says something's off. Good luck!

    My MFM recommends that I call if there is a noticeable change in the baseline of fetal movement.  That being said I also have an anterior placenta that blocks the vast majority of movement, so was instructed to monitor deviations from the norm rather than explicit kick counts.

    If you have a concern, call your ob.

    I had a decrease last weekend, and they wanted me to come in to be monitored. Baby was moving more than I was feeling, but knowing everything was ok was so worth it.
