I've never stuck to meal planning but now that I need to keep food in my stomach at all times it seems like it would be helpful because it keeps me away from junk. Who can share some of their meal planning techniques or sample meal plans?
I normally do it the day before I would grocery shop. I shop around what is on sale and what I get from a CSA. I keep it in a notebook and look through it as I make the new weeks plan.
I also use pinterest. I'll move whatever recipes I need that week to a meal plan board so it is easily accessible.
I like to have a meatless night, one red meat night, then the others a lean meat night. Also may include a take out day or frozen pizzas or something like that on a night so I'm not cooking forever.
I also like to make a bigger batch and use things the next day. So I might make rice one day and then fried rice the next. Or mashed potatoes then potato cakes the next day.
I always meal plan on Sunday night, my old board actually had a thread where we shared meal plans and recipes every Sunday. I definitely need to make a list of healthy snack ideas.
I love this idea. Was it kind of like a weekly check in? I always try to meal plan but I'm not very good at sticking with it. This would give ideas and keep me accountable. I think that's an awesome idea.

We do this on s12. Not in a few weeks but normally on a Sunday someone will post a meal plan thread.
Wow thanks you guys! I can't respond too in depth because I'm at work but I'll respond again tonight and I will definitely be taking all of your advice. Personalized trail mix sounds WONDERFUL right now!!
I was using emeals for meal planning, you can try it for free for a few weeks. I like to cook/prep everything on Sunday and be ready for the week. My problem now is adjusting to new food aversions. Today it was lettuce, last week Greek yogurt... I'm wondering what will be next.
