How much do you tip your bikini waxer?

Usually I do standard 20%, but at my last wax they showed me a list of the usual tip amount for a wax and it was $15 for a $40 wax!!!! To me that seems insane... I mean I know you have to get all up in my lady bits, but that's your profession.  I was going to give $8, but saw the sign and bumped it up to $10.  I'm kind of upset I went up especially since now that I've gotten home I've noticed she missed some spots.  Am I just really cheap?

    Wait, they showed you a list of tips?? That's ridiculous! Someone correct me, but a waxer doesn't make server wages, do they? If not, then the tip should be for good service, not a supplement of wages. And regardless, a 40 percent tip is ridonkulous!

    That's my train of thought too!!! They said "this is a list of tips people usually give in this area"...

    Geez I got into the wrong business. I should put a tip chart out for my students. Learn something today? 20-30% tip is appropriate. Did you fool around the whole period AND the teacher didn't lose her mind? 40-50% tip.

    That is absolutely absurd. I would think of going somewhere else if possible.

    That's straight up rude.  I'd look into taking my business elsewhere.

    Thanks guys, you're right I should look for somewhere else.  It just seems like all the other places around me are at least $20 more in price.

    I should not have read this! I am a cranky B this morning and I'm going to get waxed in 45 minutes. I haven't even been there yet and I already don't want to tip! Of course I still will but that is absurd.

    Ha! so true!!!! And it's really frustrating because I couldn't really see what was going on down there too well - so I had no idea how good of a job she did.

    Just stick to your instincts and if they give you a list don't even look at it.  Apparently there are some rich bishes in my neighborhood or something... lolol

    That is ridiculous. I am an Esthitician and I wax vag all day every day. That's what my salon specializes. 20% is the normal tip amount. Ours are also roughly $40 and people tip between $8-$10 on average. We do work commission and tip only (no hourly wage) but tipping is supposed to be a rresult of the quality of service. To show you a tip chart is absurd.
