question on traveling and sleep comfort

Sadly, after a long period of being unwell, my Papa (Dad's Dad) passed away early this morning.  I will be flying out to California (from DC area) tomorrow or Saturday. Sleeping is hard when you are grieving as it is... but being pregnant on top of that seems worse - I was already having trouble this morning taking a nap after being up at 5am when I got the call.

So my question is, when you travel while pregnant what do you do to ensure that you can sleep comfortably? I am seriously considering trying to pack my Boppy full body pillow because I cant imagine sleeping without it. But does anyone else have any other suggestions so I don't have to pack this huge pillow? Thanks in advance.

Re: question on traveling and sleep comfort

  • I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather.

Since  you are flying, I think packing that pillow could be very hard. I would just try to get as many pillows as possible where you are staying and make a little nest. Good luck and safe travels.

Lol I'd see how much it would be to ship it out ahead, but I'm also partial top my own pillows. Went on vaca last week and brought ALL my pillows with lol, but we were also driving.

Also terribly sorry for your loss, I just lost my grandfather this past winter, and sadly I don't think my other grandfather is far behind. :/ t&p for you and your family
  • I'm sorry for your loss. I just make sure the hotel has lots of extra pillow and pack them around myself.

  • I'm sorry for your loss.

Maybe you could ask friends or family members where you are travelling to if they have a pillow you could borrow?

  • I'm sorry for your loss. Where are you staying? Most hotels have lots of pillows that you can put between your legs, behind your back, under your belly, whatever. I am usually comfortable that way.

  • Thanks so much Ladies... I have no clue where I will be staying. Might wind up sharing a bed with my sister... so who knows. But I guess if it is a hotel I could ask for extra extra pillows or ask some family members if they have extra at their houses that I could borrow.
  • So sorry for your loss.  I have been using an extra pillow or a comforter to help.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. I would hate to tote around my body pillow so I would just use extra regular pillows.

  • Sorry for your loss! I travel a lot for work and I get a room with two queens and make a pillows fort around me. At home, I too, use a pregnancy pillow, but I still can sleep well in a hotel without it.
