I have one healthy pregnancy/child. I then had two miscarriages (5wks and 10 wks). I am now pregnant for the fourth time. I am 38 years old. Should I get a regular OB/GYN or a perinatologist (an OB/GYN for high risk pregnancies)? Thank you!
I was also AMA for my daughters pregnancy, had two prior losses, and was high risk for my sons pregnancy (pre-e). I went to a regular ob until I got a GD dx with DD. My doc did do a few things for me that he wouldn't do for the younger crowd typically... namely the NT and genetic counseling, but he didn't consider age alone a reason to see a specialist.
I am AMA and see my OB. She had me go to the MFM to see what she wanted. Now I am managed by both but my OB is my primary. All she recommended was the NT scan (we did the cfDNA test also), growth scans, and NSTs later on.
