Autism testing

We had my sons last evaluation appointment today. The psychologist said that at our appointment next week she will have a diagnosis and treatment plan for us. She did tell me that she is really on the fence about an autism diagnosis and that she needs to really go over everything from our sessions carefully again. This made me feel good and like maybe if he does have autism its very mild since it wasn't extremely obvious to her that he has it (I realize that could he an incorrect assumption on my part).

Hopefully I can hold it together until next week! I'll keep you guys posted!

    Thank you! I was nervous that she might say he needs testing at a later date. Either way I just hope we can get him the help he needs soon!

    Our psych was on the fence with DS too, and I walked into the reveal with my mind accepting an ASD(Aspergers) DX because he had mentioned it so many times before.

    We left with just an ADHD (combined), moderate. How old is your LO? Sorry I'm on a mobile.

    Also, for the waiting, that sucks. Try to keep as busy as you can until the reveal date!

    He's 21 months old, this psychologist says they diagnose as young as 18 months. The waiting is horrible but I'm just trying to be positive about the entire situation. I know a dx of autism isn't the end of the world, and will be happy to get some recommended services to help him with his delays despite the dx we receive

    Are you doing any current therapies to hold you all over so there will not be any delays?

    No, no therapies yet. We wanted to do the eval and see what she recommends before starting anything. Before our pedi referred us for the eval I was starting to wonder if he needed speech therapy, so well be starting that soon regardless of what happens
