Trouble TTC

HSG...piece of cake

Had mine today and my tubes are clear! BW and SIS were normal as well. Except my AMH was a little low for being 34 at 1.4. So I'm good to go for another IUI next month!

But I wanted to share that the HSG was no biggie at all. I took 4 ibuprofen and half a xanax. It was fast and nearly painless. From the time the speculum went in to the time it was over was maybe 5 minutes. The only thing that I can say kinda hurt was the balloon on the catheter. I didn't feel the dye at all. When it was over I had a tiny bit of blood come out with the dye. It was kinda messy but they gave me a wash cloth to clean up with. We left and spent the rest of the day shopping. It was such a relief it wasn't as awful as I thought and that its over and everything is pretty much normal! I hope this is a comfort to anyone who has an HSG coming up. I've seriously had gas pains and eyebrow waxes that hurt way more than this!

  • OMG! Thank you for posting this! I have an HSG scheduled for Friday and have been a wee bit nervous. You've made me feel a lot calmer.

  • I'm glad I could ease a few minds.

  • Hooray on everything being "pretty much normal"!  My HSG was pretty easy peasy too but that balloon thing does suck all the balls.

  • Lol! You took some serious prep. I don't blame you, my RE said that it was no big deal so I didn't take a thing, I had no pain though other than period cramps.

  • I sure did. My RE told me to take ibuprofen and the half a xanax was just to chillax a little bit so I didn't cry on the xray table.
