Gotta Go?

One of my big concerns is that I will be stuck in traffic during my 3rd trimester in an area with no place to go to the bathroom.  I got a couple of these to keep in the car and tested one out at home.  Is this concern unfounded?  Have any STM found themselves stuck in this situation?  You would have to pull over and get out to use it, but I figure this was better than not having anything at all.

  • I only tried it at home to test it.  Come on, wouldn't it be better to use this than to pee in a bottle?  I only got them for pregnancy emergencies, not everyday use.  One of my biggest worries is having to pull over to go because the baby decides to sit on my bladder.  Just trying to pass on info for a useful item.
  • That's nasty.

  • I'm trying to figure out the logistics of this.  If you are driving, how the hell to you unbuckle and get your pants down to use this thing?  I would rather find the nearest gas station than risk peeing all over myself and seat.

  • No, not while driving. You would have to pull over. Nobody has found themselves in this situation during their 3rd trimester? Maybe I'm worried for no reason.
  • So if you have to pull over why don't you just pull over and find a restroom?
  • I'm talking about major pregnancy emergencies where there is nowhere to go except the side of the road.
  • Are you taking long road trips frequently? I mean, there have been times when I've had to go pretty badly, but even if I am on the highway I just pull off at the next exit. I'm rarely somewhere where there isn't somewhere to stop and run in. But maybe you live in a more rural area?

    Just putting these together.

    Test
  • Nope... not that concerned.  If it is a big enough emergency that I have to pull off the side of the road/highway to pee, then why would I want to put it into a bag?

What would I do with full/used bag?  Bring it back in the car?  Leave it by the side of the road?

    Test
  • Never needed anything like that for first pregnancy and I drive a lot for work. I pee when I sneeze sometimes and a liner works just fine (TMI, I know). Just go to the bathroom before you hit the road.
  • Is this a joke or are you serious about pulling over in grid lock traffic and pissing in a bag? If you're gonna go to that extreme, wear depends or lay a puppy pad down in your seat. That way at least the world won't see your ass. And no, I've never encountered this situation.

  • Just pull over people excuse pregnant women for all the embarrasing moments, one of our perks !
  • I guess I just can't imagine a scenario where you would need to use this vs just going in the bushes on the side of the road. It's not like it's less exposed and really you wouldn't be the first thing to pee in the grass I'm sure. And if we're talking peeing on the shoulder of a freeway or something, is it really less humiliating to go in a bag? If the situation is really that dire (and in three pregnancies I can say for me it never has been), just stop and go. You probably wouldn't have time to get the bag set up anyway.
