  I think we've had quite a few discussions about this- one pretty recently too.
  
  I believe the consensus was that most people were doing delayed cord clamping. I'm on mobile but maybe someone can link it?

  We're not because:

  1. There aren't too many diseases that can be treated with stem cells/cord blood right now (though it *will* likely become more common).

  2. The number of stem cells that can be retrieved from cord blood is often not sufficient to treat an adult or an older child.

  3. If you get a disease, why would they use YOUR stem cells (which were clearly defective in the first place) to treat you?
