I picked up a baby bath yesterday at Babies R Us (one of those with a water reserve). It looked nice but now I've been thinking that it might be kind of useless!
So, I'm a FTM and have never even seen an infant bathed. What do I actually need/do you use? Is the baby bath even worth it or can you just get one of those hammock/cot things for the tub?
I'm hoping to make it back to Babies r us today and will probably return it if it's as useless as I think.
Thanks!
Re: Baby bath question!
This is the tub we got for my son. We put it inside the regular tub in case he splashed, less to clean up later. It has a sling for newborns, one side is leaning for smaller infants, then the other side allows them to sit up in it. My son used it until he started walking, then we just put him in the regular tub with a couple of inches of water. I really liked it. I do know some people who just sanitize and use a kitchen sink or a bathroom sink. Ours were really small though and I liked the way this tub was designed to help support them so I could use both of my hands.

ETA: The sling was machine washable.

I like the examples. The one I got was pricier I had a babies r us gift card and have been so lost as to what to get. I've been scouring all the lists on here and am basically trying to buy everything in the next 3 -4 weeks. (Thanks by the way @FrecklesInside for the suggestion of the piano play mat thing! Found one of those and it's so cute!!)
This is the bath I got:

But is this overkill?
@katydid2014 I didn't even think about mildew/etc. Do you just clean baby tubs with warm water? Clorox seems like a bad idea!
