Now I'm panicking. Oy. Just applied for a job that sounds like an excellent fit. And would be a big step up for me. I love so much about my current job, but I'm stuck waiting for an overpaid jerk to decide to retire (which he has no reason to do since he pulls down a crapload of money for doing nothing). Then they'll consider promoting me. I just can't deal with that for another couple of years. But weirdly enough, I feel like I'm cheating on my current employer. Why do I think no man would feel this way???

    I get weird with job commitments and have only had a handful of jobs my whole life- including when I was working in High School. But if the opportunity is good and this sounds like it is- go for it! Sometimes we forget that we have an obligation to ourselves to look out for ourselves!

    Oops, I thought you were asking why you may feel that way....

    I've shopped around and I always feel like I'm cheating. My employer is good to me.
